When I launched BookMyShow app yest. morning, I was shocked to find almost all 3D and 3D Max shows of Captain America are houseful till Sunday night. On the other hand, almost all the shows of a little known movie called Traffic was empty. I bought the tickets of Traffic for late night show.
As I was entering the almost empty theater at Mall of India, an uncle and his wife were also entering, and the uncle was saying, "The whole theater is empty.. is it a bad movie?"
When the movie finished, I asked him, how was the movie.. He said, "Delhi walo ko to bas America ke hero hi ache lagte hain. Asli hero to Manoj Bajpayee nikla!" Clearly his eyes were moist, and he was avoiding direct eye-contact.
Traffic should have been named 'An Indian Life', because its much more than a story of how Bombay traffic police successfully transports a heart from Mumbai to Pune within 2.5 hours, how they controllled the traffic, managed the crowd, and introduced myriad elements of an Indian life within those 120 minutes of movie.. The movie is a commentary on human emotions, of failing, and then refusing to give up, about losing someone, but having the guts to let it go.. Its about bravery, its about failure, its about love and life.
I had always been huge fan of Malayalam movies, and this remake of a Malayalam movie is another example of how advanced, emotionally vulnerable and deep stories they produce. The movie is like a thriller mind-game.. With solid performance from actors like Manoj Bajpayee,Jimmy Shergill, Prosenjit Chatterjee (Bengali movie's superstar), Parambrata Chatterjee (another Bengali actor, from Kahani), Sachin Khedekar, Divya Dutta, Kitu Gidwani and more. Piyush Mishra's dialogues are just the icing on the cake.
After you celebrate American heros and the massive production of a super-hero movie.. do watch this humble offering from late Rajesh Pillai, who was a brilliant director, and could have done so much for the cinema.

Not very often you come across a movie which makes you feel the spirit of a nation and given the diversity of culture, demographics, religion, beliefs and value systems India offers a big big challenge.
This movie is not merely a thrilling portrayal of how a human heart was driven from Mumbai to Pune in 2008, amidst rains and high traffic on a weekday against all hurdles to save the life of a girl in the nick of time. It is far more than that.
It says the story of people who want to stand up despite falling down and being disgraced, those who want to take responsibility despite knowing that the chances of winning are slim, those who make tough emotional choices to let their loved ones go, story of people who despite their wealth and fame appear utterly helpless in front of fate...and so on
Traffic is a story of a medley of characters, placed in different situations, with different background, united on a common mission, all abound in their errors and imperfections. And it is a story of rising above those odds and fighting till the end with all stakes in..
A tight script and apt background score, ingenious story telling and natural performances from everyone makes this small budget small duration movie carve out a place for itself. More than anything this movie has a spirit beyond its celluloid. It triumphs in the diversity of India and how her people can come together because they just want something so succeed.

Traffic is inspired by a real-life incident from 2008 in Tamil Nadu that was reported in the news media. The story of the Hindi film version, as far as can be told without spoilers, is this: A 12- year-old girl called Riya, daughter of film star Dev Kapoor (Prosenjit Chatterjee) and his wife Maya, is struggling for her life in Pune.
Meanwhile, newbie journalist and road accident victim Rehaan Ali is on a ventilator in a Mumbai hospital. Doctors have virtually given up hope for him. His parents agree to donate their son's heart to save Riya. With time running out for her and all flights grounded due to poor visibility, the organ must be transported 160km by road in 150 minutes.

Worth Giving a Shot! i rate this 7.5/10 Its a good movie, watched it on the very first day. It was a instant decision to watch this movie. Like many others, even i didn't know much about this movie, but the decision turned out to be a good one. Very well directed and well acted by all the actors. Few scenes will definitely make you confused, thou the movie needed to be added with some extra drama and that's fine to some extend and goes well to with the movie story line. Movie is based on the real story but sometimes it does feel that it has been added with some extra stories to make this movie to at least extend and complete its 2 hours. It is also interested to see how different stories gets connected to each other. Its not a movie to watch for its story but for the fact that how that heart is actually being transferred.Movie somewhere lacks in that department, you will not get to see much of the scenes as how police actually manages the traffic, movie goes more towards the other stories, like political angle, marital affair, love angle. All these extra masala makes the movie weak and often moves the movie turn towards those stories which most of the times looks unnecessary.
Movie is also added with Hindu Muslim angle which indeed a nice move and makes the movie more interesting. Story will keep you connected through out.

I started watching this movie only for the man who won two National Awards the great Manoj Bajpai. And then I realized that everyone acted in this movie was so brilliant. Jimmy Shergill acting was also very nice, He was disappeared after some of great movies he did from his starting movie "Maachis" to 2005. Now he is coming back again it's really good that the directors are giving chance to actors like these and Manoj Bajpai is really amazing. There are people who just love to watch the movies of the just some trending actors. But they don't know that people like Nawazuddin, Manoj Bajpai, Nana Patekar, Irrfan Khan and more are the soul of Bollywood.
I appreciate everyone for this movie, director, team and specially the writer. You should watch this movie with your loved ones. 10/10 family movie!

Inspired by a real-life incident, the story of the movie Traffic revolves around how soon can you clear crazy traffic jam while it is pouring heavily between Mumbai to Pune to transport a beating heart of a brain-dead person to rescue a deceasing patient.
The honesty with which relationships are portrayed in the movie is commendable. From breaking stereotypes to a policeman seeking redemption, a celebrity being arrogant even when while facing a personal tragedy, helping someone else while the mother is herself in grief, every character teaches you a life lesson!
The recurring time-stamps and the zig-zag narratives of the film give you the thrill of a race, a race against time and commands all your attention. The most gripping part of "Traffic" is the road journey that keeps you on the edge of your seats! Manoj Bajpayee, the police constable leaves a powerful impact on your minds with his eagerness to complete what seems to be impossible mission! Even Jimmy Shergill needs to be lauded for doing justice to his role. Exactly what you can expect from an award winning, experienced star cast!
I wouldn't disagree to the fact that there were a few minor flaws in the movie. Having said that, I believe that Traffic is a movie that deserves a round of applause because it depicts human spirit in the time of crisis. It is about life giving you a second chance. One must watch it for all the inspiration it offers! As they say sometimes even a wrong turn can take you in the right direction.

The best example to compete with time and the trouble. very helpful specially for youngsters. save the human life and the God will help you. The incidents shown in movie are the part of our daily life. one of the similar case occurred at Chennai. I really appreciate all those who help the mankind. Stay blessed. Really a heart touching story and the driving at bilal colony as shown in movie was really amazing. Hats off to the stunt men. Really good effort by the team. I think a real event Is more effective and easy to understand by everyone like Bhopal's disaster. According to me this Is the best movie till now. Thnx. Ramadan Mubarak.

Based on a true story and a Malayalam movie of the same name, Traffic, showcases the heroic efforts of the police force, who successfully transport a heart between two cities by road. Superstar Dev Kapoor's (Prosenjit Chatterjee) daughter is critically ill and can only be saved if she gets a donor heart in time. Meanwhile in Mumbai, a journalist (Vishal Singh) meets with an accident and has just a few hours to live. Knowing that their son won't survive, his parents decide to donate his heart to the ailing girl.Manoj Bajpayee as Constable Godbole is absolutely fantastic. The actor delivers an outstanding performance but is let down by a weak script. Besides Bajpayee, none of the actors get enough screen time, which is a blessing as they ham it up big time. Jimmy Shergill does get some witty lines in which he criticizes Mumbai's roads and traffic but besides that the actor has very little to do. It is disappointing to see Divya Dutta, Vikram Gokhale, and Sachin Khedekar play such poorly written characters.
There is very little to appreciate in Traffic. However, if you are a fan of over-the-top thrillers, this one may appeal to you.

Director Late Mr. Rajesh Pillai work is good. He enhances the pace of film by his perfect way of shot taking and narration. Story by Sanjay and Bobby, is based upon few real incidents and developed interestingly. Screenplay by Suresh Nair is fine. Dialogues are very lame and boring. This subject would have received good support from dialogues but they are just informative or even irritating. Like the conversation between chief medical superintendent and Traffic Commissioner is very raw which is a crucial scene of the film. I was complete aware about the beginning and end of this film by just watching the trailer but after that witnessing the journey was interesting. Emotional angle are placed in very balanced way. Like between the dead guy Rehan and Aditi, in few shot and words it is clear about there concern, hesitation and care. When doctor allows just one person to visit him, Rehan friend decides to send Aditi inside. It was very emotional. Rehan father notices it and calls Aditi in climax, which established father helpful and progressive nature. This way Rehan father character is justified very ably. Manoj Bajpeyee character is also justified in good way, the reason to prove himself. His daughter angle and the cause behind his humiliation just in brief flashes are perfect. The sub track of doctor Abel looks stuffed a bit. Hero in this film is 'Tata Safari Storme'. Actions scenes need especial mention. They are just perfect and keep you at the edge of seat. Credit goes to K.S.Prakash and R.P.Yadav. Performance wise Manoj Bajpeyee as constable Godbole is first rate. He gives you the feel of a real constable which is determined to prove himself. Sachin Khedekar as Rehan father is very good, especially in emotional scenes. Jimmy Shergil as traffic commissioner is good.

For a drama thriller "Traffic" has a lot of deviations, mainly because it tries to bring more dramatic moments than it already has. The plot is good, simple and approachable, although it may exaggerate some of its elements. The mix of different worlds is told carefully, while it may be overly colorful it's easily identifiable for audience.
The story is an emotional one, a young man has an accident and on the verge of dying. His heart is compatible with a patient with rare heart condition in the next city and they need to transplant it as soon as possible. There are many perspectives at play here, from the police's, doctors' and the both families' themselves. Each is told in continuous order to fit the progressing timeline.
The structure is nicely done, it may seem complex at first, especially when a couple of them are looking almost like soap opera, but it all pans out relatively well. The protagonists are likable, they are flawed in their own ways, seeking redemption and salvation respectively . Its most jarring setback is occasionally moves towards overly melancholy tone, which it doesn't need to.
At times it also tries to be a thriller, the result is mixed. It might be better if the movie stays on course with more grounded approach. It even veers into action territory at some junctures. These are rather distracting and probably to prolong the journey, even though the core drama is capable on presenting a riveting story on its own.
The heart of the story is presentable, regardless of the few questionable turns for thriller and action.

Saw this on TV the other day and although I did like it for the most part, there were a few things I did find objectionable. First, the story is heart-warming, a dying girl getting a heart transplant and a group of people trying to help make that happen. But the message of the story is lost when it is shown that the girl's (absent) father is a movie star and abuses his power and his connections to get his daughter a heart. That didn't really sit so well with me.
Second, there were a lot more sub-plots in the movie which all competed for the viewer's attention, some of which seemed unnecessary. But, that apart, the cast was pretty good and they suited their roles. Jimmy Sheirgill and Manoj Bajpayee are great in their respective roles and elevate the movie to another level.

Started watching this movie because of Manoj Bajpai, There were 4 stories going parallel and the best part of it how the 4 stories meet and integrate with each other and ofcourse the emotional roller coster was directed incredibly well.
There were few logical loop holes in the movie but the overall the movie was great to watch. All characters are well defined and Manoj Bajpai as always steals the show.

Its really a great movie directed by Lt Rajesh Pillai a great director of Indian movies
. Manoj bajpayee, jummy shergill Amol parasher
.and others
.its emotional and thrilling movie
The movie is a remake of Rajesh Pillai's Malayalam thriller of the same name. Traffic has been released after a long delay. Unfortunately, director Rajesh Pillai died before he could see the fruit of his efforts on screen.. This movie is not merely a thrilling portrayal of how a human heart was driven from Mumbai to Pune in 2008, amidst rains and high traffic on a weekday against all hurdles to save the life of a girl in the nick of time. The story of Traffic, takes place over the course of a single day and is inspired by a real-life incident from Chennai, as shown in the credits. In Pune, superstar Dev Kapoor's daughter is sick and needs an urgent heart transplant. Elsewhere in Mumbai, trainee journalist Reyhan meets with an accident and is declared clinically dead. Reyhan's parents decide to donate his heart to Dev's daughter. However, rains and low visibility conditions make it impossible to transport the heart by air and the only option is to traverse the 150 km by road. The story is based on true event happened in Chennai and remake of a Malayalam film of same name traffic
.everybody must watch this movie

Let me review is with only one point:
In real the savior and doner was a Hindu. In movie, it's a Muslim.
Now please don't ask how does it matter. It matters a lot. Why the hell Bollywood can't think something different? What was stopping them to show the real incident with real characters?

Another good story gone to waste. It appears the director was not sure if the movie should be a Drama or a Thriller. Traffic fails on both counts. Other than lack of this focus, the movie has multiple logical flaws. The movie also makes some technical mistakes like showing widespread use of Smartphones in 2008. The movie crams multiple messages when it could have stuck to just one. This adds unnecessary sequences that drag the movie.
I think the movie would fit-in better with Drama genre than the thriller it was positioned to be. This positioning changes the expectation from the movie and utterly fails to meet those expectations. The thrilling moments in the movie are far and few, and mostly limited to what you see in the trailer.

I say fine movie because there is some mistakes in the movie like >> Girls parents knew about the serious condition of girl from a long time then why the didn't find donor before and why they keep waiting till the end and why didn't doctors suggested this to parents before ? << or >> Girl gets hospitalized ~ 7 A.AM. and in hospital Divya Dutta has been shown in full makeup with dark red lipstick, So does that mean when her girl was about to die in ICU she was applying makeup? << or >> It clearly looks MLA ask police to create GREEN CORRIDOR because of girl parent's celebrity status and police did because of order. No humanity factor was there in any sense.<< Because of these some mistakes i didn't like this movie

Actors like Manoj Vajpayee and Jimmy Shergill are soul of current Hindi cinema. We may have Khans in Bollywood with many 100 Crore club hits but they all fails in front of these actors. Traffic is a heart touching story of how a traffic police tackles with situation to save a life. Dialogue delivery and expressions are amazing. No matter what role you give to Manoj Vajpayee, He will always do justice to it. Jimmy Shergill also shines in the role of a police inspector. Actually he deserves more from Bollywood. He is a mine of talent of acting. I say its must watch for all. This story depicts how impossible becomes possible if your heart is pure.
