- In this very campy and heartwarming movie, five internationally-known, glamorous, 80s soap opera stars reunite to share the spotlight and shoot the final Christmas episode of their long-running soap opera. The producer, Alex (Travis Burns) and director, Nell (Taylor Ann Thompson), old college friends, do their best to keep things on the rails but as the Ladies come together, old rivalries resurface that threaten to tear the whole production apart. With the show nearly canceled before it even begins due to the Ladies' famous diva zingers, slap fest, pushing each other in the pool, a diva-licious food fight, and falling down a spiral staircase, the divas reluctantly agree to set aside their differences and "past secrets" to "act" as if they all still love each other, only to eventually discover that the love between them is still strong...Also, when old love sparks reignite between Alex and Nell, the Ladies become eager to play cupid and conspire to bring the couple together. The show becomes a ratings hit ushering in a new television format for the series and the Ladies - the first streaming, "reality", soap opera. A Christmas Romance blooms full for Alex and Nell, and all the Ladies are gifted with learning about themselves and each other.
- Having appeared on it as a child actor, Alex, in his first foray as writer/producer following leaving film school five years ago, has sold to the network a live broadcast of a Christmas reunion scripted special of the 1980s long canceled soap opera, "The Great Lakes", the special to star the five lead actresses, who portrayed the Lake matriarch and her four similar age stepdaughters. As much as Alex needs the show to succeed to advance his career, each of the actresses also needs it to succeed to revive each of their careers. They are: Margaux, the quintuply married current singleton, who has long lived off her vast wealth; Lily, who has kept her name in the public eye by appearing in celebrity versions of reality shows; Lauren, the head of her own holistic healthy living empire; Dana, the Mother Teresa of the group in having adopted five needy children, she who has kept her name in the public eye solely through social media; and Juliette, the "home shopping channel"esque entrepreneur. Only Juliette has declined the offer, most assuming it due to the bad blood that has existed between her and Dana since the time Dana abruptly left the show without word to Juliette, the two before that time best friends. While all five women were friends at the time, they have not kept in touch with each other, each now harboring a secret about her life. But all being divas in their own right, both then and now, they all being on a confined set together somewhat in competition with each other may threaten the production and Alex's career before it really even begins. But the women may come together in focusing on something else, namely the relationship between Alex and who he hired as director, Nell, a film school colleague, and his best friend at the time, they who were seemingly on the brink of a romantic relationship before he abruptly left school, the two not having seen each other since that time until now.—Huggo
