The story is about 3 friends Chai, Kam and Mao, who are like brothers to each other, rising in their ranks in the triad after committing their first murder. They get trained and Chai remains to be the noble one whereas Mao aims to make quick money, only find himself in a mess he had no clue of. Kam grows upto be the reckless one. As Mao's attempt to make quick money makes him an involuntary accomplish to a murder attempt on his boss, Chai and Kam ensure he escapes. Years later Mao returns with his pregnant wife and the now crippled boss's wife seeks revenge. Would the brotherhood be upheld or the trio pay the price for their greed and jealousy, forms rest of the story.
It is quite a generic gangster drama and a straightforward story, revolving around the growth and subsequent downfall of the three men. There is no one hero instead the story is character driven and their actions get them to their respective fate. The making is decent but the story ends up being repetitive. For the two good action scenes and the three leads coming up with decent performances, I am going with a lenient rating. For a film titled Triad 2, thankfully it is not a continuation of 2012 film which I haven't seen yet. This film doesn't offer anything new for it's genre but as another addition to the gangster films, it is at best an okay watch considering it's short runtime.
