Filmmaker Cameron Crowe and producer J.J. Abrams explore the lives of the behind-the-scenes people who make concerts happen in the upcoming Showtime comedy series Roadies, which unveiled its first extended look Friday. The trailer opens up with a Tom Petty quote, "I think the general public has no idea what roadies do. Bless 'em all. I just play the songs." From there, the preview offers up glimpses of life on the road for these unsung heroes, with the series focusing in on roadies played by Imogen Poots, Carlo Gugino and Luke Wilson.

BBC One are teaming with Neil Cross for Hard Sun, a “bold, ambitious, relevant and dark” drama series…

Luther creator and recurring Doctor Who scribe Neil Cross has a new project on the way – Hard Sun, a ‘pre-apocalyptic crime drama’ for BBC One.

The show is envisioned as a six-part drama, and can be expected on our screens in 2017. It’s set in contemporary London, a prime locale for end of days-style doom and gloom, as anyone who’s ever waded through Waterloo Station on a Friday night will understand.

Here’s the synopsis:

“Detectives Elaine Renko and Robert Hicks, partners and enemies, seek to enforce the law and protect their loved ones in a world that every day slips closer to certain destruction.”

And here’s a statement from Neil Cross:

“Imagine the world you see when you look out your window… except it’s been given a death sentence.

Neil Cross, creative mind behind Idris Elba’s smash procedural Luther, has set up Hard Sun at BBC One, a six-part pre-apocalyptic drama.

Deadline has the scoop, reporting that the hatched project is situated in contemporary London when the English capital is teetering on the edge of armageddon. A pre-apocalyptic feature, essentially, and one which will revolve around two detectives attempting to enforce the law on a society that has all but given up the ghost.

Though it may read like science fiction on paper, Cross is quick to stress that the series will instead focus on how humanity comes to terms with a planet that has “been given its death sentence.” At the crux of Hard Sun are Elaine Renko and Robert Hicks, the pair of detectives will, much like any on-screen police pairing before them, have a love-hate parnternship.

BBC One has given the green light for "Luther" creator creator Neil Cross' new hour-long pre-apocalyptic crime drama "Hard Sun". The project will film in and around London, and casting will be announced soon.

Six episodes have been given the go ahead for the series which explores the idea of two detectives and rivals who seek to enforce the law and protect their loved ones in a world that has essentially been given a death sentence - how would civilisation react knowing that in a few years we'll all be dead. The action packed horror film Run Like Hell has acquired distribution by Gravitas Ventures (VOD rights) and Millennium Entertainment (DVD rights).

The 'Run Like Hell Team' will be signing posters this weekend at Comic-Con, at the GeekScape booth on July 26th from 2-3pm.

They feel doing movies in bunches not only helps to control costs, but it keeps the team sharp as they are on the job for an extended period of time.
