Edit
First Telugu movie to feature three generation's of actors from the same family: Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, Additionally Akhil Akkineni (Special Appearance)
This film was the last film of Veteran Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The film was released on May 23, 2014. Coincidentally his son's (Akkineni Nagarjuna's) debut film was released on May 23, 1986 too.
The real life names of Nageshwara Rao, Nagarjuna and Chaitanya are given to Nagarjuna, Chaitanya and Nageshwara Rao respectively in the movie.
When filmmaker Vikram Kumar approached Nagarjuna, through Sudhakar Reddy (Nagarjuna's friend and a reputed film distributor) with the idea of making a film featuring the actors from three generations of Akkineni family, Nagarjuna, though found the idea interesting, asked Vikram Kumar to make a successful film in Telugu before he could bankroll it, as such a film was never made before in Telugu cinema. Vikram Kumar took it as a challenge and made a film titled "Ishq" featuring actor Nithin (Son of Sudhakar Reddy), who faced a consecutive 11 disasters before appearing in Ishq. The film became an instant hit, thus making Nagarjuna signing the project and giving a huge break for Nithin. Reportedly, Vikram Kumar worked for one year on the script before taking it to sets.
This film comprises of remix of a classic song of Akkineni Nageswara Rao, "Nenu Puttanu" from the film Prem Nagar. However, due to untimely demise of ANR before the song is shot, the clips from the original were used in the background of this song, thus making it appeal as a tribute to the original.
