Now, don't get me wrong, Dora the Explorer is not a bad show in my book, as the Nick Jr. Cartoon that started in 2000 was a neat cartoon that encouraged kids to interact, and it is even noted for teaching Spanish, causing the show to be a preschool phenomenon. Dora and the Fantastical Creatures is a short that is shown before PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie which is actually meant to be a pilot for the reboot coming next year
In this, Dora and Boots enter the world of the Albejeras, the rainforest's most magical and colorful animals. They arrive for the. Copal Tree Celebration but are ready to save the day when Swiper goes swiping.
Now, to be honest, I doubt everyone was asking for a reboot to Dora the Explorer, as even though they have kids, they would rather show them the original show, which is way better than this short. Basically, I did not like how Dora and Boots are done in CGI, as they stray too far from their original version sometimes (the faces look way wrong). Also, the plot is kind of nonsensical. The reason this gets two stars is because it keeps the interactive element of the original show, and they manage to get Marc Weiner to reprise his role as Swiper the Fox, but this is a bland attempt to promote an upcoming reboot that nobody, not even longtime Dora the Explorer fans, were asking for.
