-Based on the play "Les belles-soeurs" by Michel Tremblay, it became a musical play with music and songs by Daniel Belanger in 2008. It had a long run including in Paris. The librettist of the play and stage director transformed that musical into a film with more realist backgrounds.
Director René Richard Cyr also plays the travelling salesman who sells brushes to Desneiges Verrette. He is also the director of the musical play adapted from the original text.
