Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith, who portray the lover characters in Leo's novel come to life (at least in Leo's mind), have previously portrayed romantic partners in several other projects for The Hallmark Channel, such as When Calls the Heart (2014), The Perfect Bride (2017), The Perfect Bride: Wedding Bells (2019) and You Had Me at Aloha (2021), the latter three having all been written by Rick Garman, who also wrote this film.
When Ellie suggests to Leo that they swap homes for two weeks which would entail Leo leaving the comfort of Pinewood to go to Westerhaven, Leo responds regarding his preferred locale, "I don't know... I was thinking more like *Vancouver*, or exotic Victoria." This movie was largely filmed in the Greater Vancouver area.
The piano piece Ellie plays when she spots the piano in the hotel is Arabesque No. 1 by Claude Debussy. This popular and quite well-known piano piece is written in E-major, but for whatever reason this presentation of the piece by Ellie is played in C-major.
Aired as the third of seven original films in The Hallmark Channel's 2023 "Fall into Love" lineup.
