Producer Mark Patterson has said that this film was "Paul Cox's loving tribute to his great friend and muse, the multi-talented Norman Kaye. Most of Paul's work with Norman as an actor and co-conspirator was before I started working with Paul, but the legend of Norman pervaded everything, and I was lucky enough to work with him a handful of times."
