“Blame the Game” is a Netflix romantic comedy starring Janina Uhse, Dennis Mojen, Stephan Luca, Taneshia Abt and Edin Hasanović. It is directed by Marco Petry.
Blame the Game
“Blame the Game” is a classic comedic film on Netflix, reminiscent in style to the refined Hollywood classics of Ernst Lubitsch or Frank Capra. This refined and elegant comedy adopts a traditional farcical formula, with most of the action happening on one stage and spanning a single night.
This film, with its simple script and straightforward characters, is sure to entertain those who appreciate a retro-style comedy imbued with a modern narrative thread. Although not uproariously funny, it certainly aims to appeal more to a family audience rather than those seeking outlandish situations.
Plot Overview
The story revolves around a man named Jan who meets a woman named Pia. One night, Jan finds himself thrust into Pia’s circle of friends,...

Blame the Game, or Spieleabend, is a new German comedy-drama film on Netflix based on the very uncomfortable situation that might arise when a current and ex-lover come face-to-face. The plot is centered around this very discomfort and the ensuing chaos as Pia brings her new boyfriend, Jan, to a usual game night with her close friends. While Blame the Game also briefly touches upon matters like class difference and the characteristic snobbery of the rich, it ultimately sticks to the comedy formula, with an ending that goes happily for almost everyone around.
Spoiler Alert
What is the Netflix film about?
As a comedy film centered around a lot of coincidences, Blame the Game opens with a meeting between the two protagonists by chance at a local park. As a young man named Jan cycles around for exercise, he suddenly realizes that his pet dog, Eddi, has established a bit...

Exclusive: Netflix’s urban fantasy drama The Grimm Reality will not see the light of day. We’ve learned that the series from Dark producer Wiedemann & Berg and The Gryphon co-producer Dog Haus Films has been quietly shelved.
The Grimm Reality first went into development at Netflix’s German base and then into production in late 2022. We understand filming had completed, but it will not move further forwards at Netflix.
Plot details on the show were not revealed, but it was assumed to be based on the Brothers Grimm folklore tales of the 18th and 19th centuries. The series was billed a “fairy tale urban fantasy thriller,” according to What’s on Netflix, which initially broke the news of the show.
Show creators were Till Kleinert (Der Samurai) and Dog Haus’ Erol Yesilkaya, who is a producer and scriptwriter. Actors including Hyuan Wanner, Patrick Isermeyer, Eidin Jalali and Dennis Schuermann were cast.
