Actress Kim Hieora was originally cast as one of the main roles, but dropped out due to "personal circumstances" shortly before casting was announced.
Both Kim Tae-ri and Moon So-ri starred in two previous projects together: The Handmaiden (2016) and Little Forest (2018), respectively. This makes the third time the duo plays as daughter/mother-figure (aunt/niece in Handmaiden); first time being in Little Forest.
Based on the Korean webtoon series of the same name.
The design and look of Jeongnyeon, the titular character Kim Tae-ri plays as, were inspired by Nam Sook-hee, the lead character from The Handmaiden (2016)... whom Kim Tae-ri also played as.
