The Mantis

Seeing The Mantis at Austin Film Festival was an incredible experience. The story, directing, cinematography, and acting are all second to none. I was very impressed with the director, Wylie Rush, who spoke at the festival and I can't wait to see his next film. I was particularly taken with actress Jessie Gill who had a killer performance. The "twist" at the end of The Mantis had me at the edge of my seat. It is deserving of all the praise and accolades it is receiving. Captivating and disturbing at the same time, this short film eloquently comments on online social behavior in a way only Wylie Rush could explore. 10/10.
