I expected a gangster thriller like the cult Blinded by the Lights, but Wrooklyn is a different type of film. It is a mishmash of a youth film about growing up, combined with a fairy tale embellished with strong elements of Roma culture. Jan Frycz, on the other hand, introduces an element of naturalism and drama. Plot and stylistically, it's one big mess, but what a nice mess. Skonieczny proved that he makes the most beautiful films in Poland and it is no different with Wrooklyn Zoo. It is such a colorful bird against the background of grayness in Polish cinema. Among the actors, Jan Frycz once again stands out, who is very good at working with Skonieczny. You can have reservations about the two main characters. They play convincingly, but sometimes you can see deficiencies in the technique. The film is worth seeing, especially for those who like Skonieczny's music video style and how much is happening on the screen.
