Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie

This movie was a first time watch for me and while I found it to be good, it was also very disappointing especially given that Kevin Smith wrote it.

Positives for Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie! (2013): The animation here looks silly, but it matches the tone and approach of the movie. There is some investment with seeing Jay and Silent Bob playing superheroes and fighting supervillains. And finally, the comedy in this movie is pretty good for the most part.

Negatives for Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie! (2013): This movie feels like it was directed by someone who didn't care or understand these characters and that's because the movie wasn't directed by Kevin Smith. All of the humor feels like the most generic body humor that would coming from a 13-year old edge lord which is odd given that Kevin Smith wrote the screenplay. It honestly feels like the director took Smith's screenplay and chose to go a different direction with the material.

Overall, while I had some fun with this animated movie, I also can't get over the fact that this movie was a big disappointment for me. I didn't hate the movie, but I was expecting some much more from it.
