Naomi Scott is best known for her work in Aladdin and Charlie’s Angels. She was recently seen in the horror film Smile 2, which has reportedly received positive acclaim from critics and has earned $109 million at the box office. Scott has a long lineup of films, including her debut as a producer in Eternal Return.
Ever since her Aladdin days, Scott’s ethnicity has been under scrutiny. While Disney’s live-action adaptation sought to correct the racial stereotypes propagated by the animated original, Scott’s casting was controversial due to Princess Jasmine being largely believed to be Middle-Eastern or Indian. However, Scott’s ethnicity is actually pretty interesting.

Game of Thrones star Kit Harington might have faced off against all sorts of enemies in the HBO drama, but in his new movie The Beast Within, he's dealing with a much more personal foe. Releasing in theaters on July 26, Harington plays a family man who lives with his family in a secluded compound deep in the English wilds to protect his secret.
When his 10-year-old daughter Willow starts to question why her family lives such a reclusive life in the forest, she starts digging into their history and uncovers a dark ancestral secret. Harington stars alongside Ashleigh Cummings (Citadel), James Cosmo (Scrooge: A Christmas Carol), and Caoilinn Springall (Stopmotion). Naomi Scott has been set to star in Paramount Pictures’ untitled sequel to its hit horror pic Smile. Parker Finn wrote the script and will direct. Temple Hill is producing.
The original was a runaway hit last year after Paramount made the smart move to release it in theaters rather than o Paramount+. The gamble paid off: the film went on to gross $217 million worldwide, with a sequel quickly put in development.

Given the popularity of the first pic, Paramount sees the film as a top priority going forward and the casting process was competitive, with several up-and-coming stars chasing the part Scott would eventually land. The sequel is due to be...
