This is definitely a fun movie to watch. Great acting from the actors. The locations were beautiful and at times breathtaking. This is much darker than the Disney versions (and more fun to watch). There are also some time-ins with some great HP Lovecraft lore. I liked that it was more suspenseful than just gorey as too many 'horror' films are nowadays. Some of the pacing was a little slow, but otherwise I was definitely invested in our characters' journeys. Effects were pretty good too, especially considering the lower budget. Mermaid tail looked really cool. I think there could be some break out stars in this cast. Can't wait to see what this team does next.
