Illuminati Castrati was really weird, and I just didn't get it. I liked the idea that it had queer elements in the vampire lore and I think it's not as explored in the horror genre as much as it should, but the execution felt too underwhelming and rushed.
Visually, this is the most striking film I've seen out of all in the festivals. The lighting captures the haunting and somber atmosphere well, as if it's charm was luring me into its world. The acting on the other hand is really good, especially from a few.
However, the story is all over the place. It jumps between moments without much explanation, leaving me feeling confused about what the film was trying to say. While I believe the film will most likely get received well, it ended up being an odd, underwhelming experience that didn't quite hit the mark for me.
