"Fashion isn't about how chubby or slim you are, fashion is about celebrating yourself " this is the main concept of this film. This is a very unique concept in bengali cinema. I don't think so, there has been a movie about this kind of thing before.
Director Aritra Mukherjee's Direction is awesome. There will be no talk about the story of the movie, in one word it is great. Applicable dialogues have been put in this movie. The biggest thing is, the quarrel between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law was not shown unnecessarily.
There are some songs in the movie. These are very good. Nice to hear and see. Background music are also good.
Let's talk about acting, Ritabhari Chakraborty (Fullora Bhaduri), Abir Chatterjee (Bachoshpoti Bhaduri), Swastika Dutta (The Biki Sen), Soma Banerjee (Bachoshpoti's Mother), Raktim Samanta (Bachoshpoti's Brother) are the main characters in this movie. They portray their own characters very well. Separately applauded to Ritabhari Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee. Also other casts are there in the movie. They are very good.

Fata Fati
If you look at me, you will know my weight and sizeAnd the size of my dreams is 100,100,100
-The movie ends with Phooora (actress Ritabhari Chakraborty) saying...
But The words of direct competition and insults directed at her shape pierce Etella's mind The role of Phulora in this movie is that she brings out her amazing talent from all the pains.
Flowera Fashion on Insta without showing your face Post box scene
A scene where the husband and family members stand by the middle class family
(Ritabhari's) performance in the scenes of walking on the ramp in the fashion show is popular
The scene where fat women, despite their shape and many problems in life, get together and forget about everything and have a cup of coffee is great.
Must see.

I have just seen this movie. Now,i just wanna give my honest opinion about this .. Abir Chatterjee as usual very natural in his character of Bachaspati..@ritabharipc as phullora must be appreciated..she justifies phullora so well. Rest of the characters of this film match the vives and tempo..swastika as Biki Sen attracts peoples attention. Director Aritra Mukherjee deserves a wow..Windows as a production house done a great job. So,the story of a middle class girl who is fat but live her life by her own choice. It is a story that tells us how we do our daily chores but never leave our dreams #fatafati.

This is a beautiful movie with a great message to convey. Body shaming is a crime as it affects a person psychologically. Phullora's story is an example of how one should ignore all the comments regarding one's shape and size and concentrate on his/her work. Success is the best answer to all sorts of criticism. It is high time that we, as a society, stop all these. The film entails some heart touching performance by the lead artists and is a family entertainment. It's absolutely essential to encourage Bengali movies of this kind because it does not promote any negative idea. Go and watch Fatafati and recommend it to all your friends and family. This film gives a positive message which is absolutely essential for today's youth.
Aritra Mukherjee's Fatafati has a decent grip on the perils of both fatphobia and skinny-worshipping but manages to distil its size positivity from becoming unrelenting. It's a clever approach too because the film's message weaves in ideas of body neutrality; instead of telling women how they should feel about their bodies, the film basically says they are much more than their bodily flaws or beauties.
Ritabhari Chakraborty plays Phullara, a plus-sized seamstress-turned-influencer from a small town who with the help of her brother-in-law starts a body-positive social media page. A very well executed global issue of obesity and over weighted people . In short I should say it is a masterpiece.

Love Bikki Sen. I don't know why but I found her to be very relatable. I have a neighbour, who is always gossiping about what others wear, what they eat, what their body weight is, what their public conduct is like and how all these should ideally be and passes on all the information to her circle. So, all these women are always body shaming the rest of the neighbourhood. I have been under their scanner several times and no matter how much I detest them or want to raise my voice, something in me has barred me from doing that. Fatafati is an answer to the Bikki Sens of the world. I hope all these aunties watch the film and realise what a mess they have been to us. Performance wise too, Swastika Dutta as Bikki Sen has been quite a revelation. She has broken image to do this and hats off!
Director Aritra Mukherjee done a great job. Ritabhari and off course Abir Chatterjee acted so well. Rest of the casts have done their work superbly.. The name 'FATAFATI' really justifies. This movie shows the real truth of the so called society. Now a days body shaming gives such a negative impact on the society. We should thing about this. Not only good look matters.. Quality matters more than it. This movie emphasizes this fact. A simple middle class married woman, despite of every hurdles in her life, keep going on to fulfill her dream. This movie touches my heart. We are not mediocre. We are best. I just loved it. I have given my review and rating. Now it's your turn.

'Fatafati' Is Way Above 'Motamuti' And Way Ahead Of 'Tadatadi'
If you have ever lived in Bengal or are blessed to have Bengali friends around you, who somehow cannot resist and often indulge in speaking their mother tongue while you watch them, enjoying their sorties, these three words used in the subject line are definitely not new to you.
"Fatafati" - an Aritra Mukherjee directed Bengali movie, dubbed in many languages including Hindi and released on OTT platform on Sony Liv on 4th August 2023 is "Motamuti" a pure, fresh and unpolished diamond on an irresistible offer that should be "Tadatadi" availed, watched for some clean, inspiring and rejuvenating entertainment.
Though the movie quickly establishes a heart to heart connection with all type of or different age group of viewers, if you have ever lived in Kolkata or in Bengal in general, it would go an extra mile to make you feel at home.
No doubt, the movie could have been a real masterpiece had some finer points been attended, decorated and celebrated in a logically placed sequence or order, but even then the sheer purity of intent, inherent simplicity of expression and abundant clarity in content with which the story unfolds beautifully, makes it a cut above the rest.
In times when violence, action and vulgarity are considered as a certain winning formula, especially on OTT, 'Fatafati' stands out as a clean entertainment trendsetter movie which is likely to inspire many budding Phulloras of our world to blossom into a beautiful flower, spreading the fragrance of love, trust and excellence, wherever they are.
Though I can go on writing about this small budget wonder that is full of human feelings, priceless sentiments and natural emotions, saying anything further, may actually reveal the plot, I want you to explore, discover and enjoy on your own.
It is a must watch movie that should be enjoyed with entire family watching it together - do share your reflections after viewing it.
We simply loved being a part of this beautiful story,
In gratitude,

- Fatafati - A word that 'Motamuti' expresses excellence of higher order.
- Motamuti - A word that 'Tadatadi' expresses anything that is on an average.
- Tadatadi - A word that unlike above two words, expresses the dire need to hurry up whichever way it can.

Fatafati promotes itself as a film with a social message that deals with body shaming...... And the social message that is given in this film is very very relatable...... It is amusing and at the same time it is inspiring..... the performance by all the lead characters of the film is excellent! Both Ritabhari and Abir have acted brilliantly in this movie..... It is shot well in a picturesque Bengal town. ....The cinematography as well as the music of the film is beautiful!....this is a film with a lot of positivity and this kind of positivity is needed for today's generation....it is high time we stop beig judgemental!....love the idea promoted by the film- we are not so so, we are just too good!

I also went with my family and really enjoyed it . Windows is doing a great job. These type of film should be given priority Each and every actor has done a wonderful job. Hat's of to Aritra Mukherjee for presenting such a film. You should all support.and enjoy.
At a time when family values are degenerating by the day and we often champion broken families, sibling rivalries, cheating husband and wife, Fatafati appears to be a pleasant change. I don't remember after Badhaai Ho, in which film I saw these moments between a husband and wife. Here Fullora and Bachospoti felt as if they complete each other. So, when there's no money, they still do their best to share their income and look after the best interests of the family members. Even when they were away from each other, they still looked very much together. I was blown away by this age-old romance between a man and woman in a modern film. Honestly, I did not expect this. Also, kudos to Ritabhari Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee for making this story look so believable. They have done a very good job and I hope they pair up in more such films.

The measure of beauty is measured. There is no point in going around a bit. That is the red spot on the mark sheet.
How long have women been forced to cope with this demand? And entertainment movies are equally encouraged.
Almost everyone knows that the general construction of the heroines is created to make the male eye worthwhile.
By 'men' here, however, I am not just referring to gender-identified men. I am talking about a particular mentality. Victims of that mentality are, unfortunately, often women themselves. Even today, our progressive society is looking for a young body in advertisement for bride wanted. The news shows how hard the heroines work to get slim.
A rose of praise is picked up for that sneaky appearance. And, the woman who is away from these, what does she do? For her, there is a feeling of depression and despair.
Sometimes it becomes fatal. Especially, in the case of young people. It is from that place that '' strikes me as a wonderful Fatafati slap.
Fortunately, the wave of change over time is being felt in the media and elsewhere. A few days ago, an actress refused to advertise fairness cream.

She lives next door to Biki Sen (Swastika Dutta), a fashion and wellness influencer who never misses a chance to size-shame her. Phullara's husband Bachaspati (Abir Chatterjee) is smitten with her, her mum-law is not problematic in any real way and she has a supportive peer group. Very little gets in her way in the first half, (except maybe Biki and a fatphobic autowallah), which makes for a sleepy first hour. But we recommend not leaving midway because turns out the makers saved most of the drama for the second half.

At a time when cheating in marriages is shown as the obvious in films and also web series, Fatafati talks about a middle-class world oozing with affection and love, tucked away in a few kilometers away from the big city. There's enough love to keep a family going, even when a financial crisis looms large. Some of the characters are couched in daily comforts, while there are a few like Fullora Bhaduri and Rinku, who want to test the unknown waters. Even when they set out to prove their worth, their love for their near and dear ones happens to be the driving force. I think it is the middle-class values that we have grown up with makes Fatafati different from the films made today --- soul-less and definitely not their heart at the right places. I have seen the film with my entire family and came home loving them a lot more.

I am an avid fashion lover. And I religiously follow the fashion trends across the globe, keeping an eye on whatever is happening everywhere. And I loved it when Fullora Bhaduri discarded the use of heels right at the end of the film. Earlier the the heel controversy at Festival de Cannes sparked a serious conversation about the shoes women wear and their reasons for wearing them on the red carpet. Heels may look great but it also hurts women and to not be allowed to wear comfort shoes in public is a big issue. Hollywood actors have raised their voice against the trend of wearing heels on the red carpet and here, in an Indian film, the same has been shown. I felt very proud as an audience member that the conversation has been taken forward. And yes, heels are no longer 'essentials of a fashion show'. True that.
A very relatable movie about a Bengali family living in Dhulisahar, where neighbourhood girl Biki Sen wreaks havoc on the mindspace of the characters. Rising from the ashes, just like Phoenix is Phullora Bhaduri. She believes in the old-age saying when life gives you lemons, you make a lemonade out of it. It's the same with her. So, when her family goes through a financial crisis, she takes the onus to run the family on her. Her husband, Bachospoti, who dotes on her, too goes away to Kolkata to eke out a living for them. The little brother Gogol and the mother, Behula, too are as supportive as possible as Phullora goes on to prove herself in the wide world out there, always judging her body, her weight and never her talent. Ritabhari Chakraborty as Phullora is very convincing. Others like Abir Chatterjee and Swastika Dutta and several actors I am seeing first are all wonderful.

This film is one of the most entertaining movies that I have ever seen. Start to finish the movie is thoroughly enjoyable. The script was surprisingly good and music was amazing, the editing and cinematography was top-notch. But above all, both Abir and Ritabhari are mondblowing! Both have embodied the characters so well and played every shades of the character brilliantly, with perfection. Such an well thought out and executed cinema. Hope the film reaches out to the largest audience possible. The film deserves lot of appreciation and love from the audience. The message that is given in this film is so strong and relatable. All the best, Team #FATAFATI.
