Allison Akmajian was hired to play opposite Bryn Booth so Bryn would have some to play against since she was both Willow and Holly in the film. Even though Allison is never actually seen in the film she was given credit as playing Holly/Willow.
Close friends of the writer/director had just purchased an old, creepy house that built in 1910. They were not going to be renovating it for a few months and offered it as a location to shoot "something". The screenplay for 10FT DOWN was written around he house.
The character of the "Hitcher" in 8000ft Up was given the name "Larry Foster" in 10FT DOWN. Larry Foster is the name of the writer/director's (Alan Williams) professors in film school and he puts a character named Larry Foster in every film he writes and directs.
Because of the limited schedules of the some of the cast and crew, many of the "night scenes" were shot during the day with night time lighting and many of the "day scenes" were shot at night with day time lighting.
10FT DOWN is the prequel to the indie psychological thriller, 8000FT UP. After a screening at the Arizona International Film Festival, the audience wanted to know "what happened before" and six months later, the script was written.
