If it was renewed for a second season I don't think Im gonna watch it. It's been promoted as it's good as From series or Lost. It's nowhere near that. It has some light at some points but it drops everytime so it kinda bores the s**t out of it. It's not scary or gives you chills or anything. Could've been great. I love Sci-Fi but this is not the thang. I think Episode 2 was the only good episode so far in the series other episodes are so boring that you might fall asleep for sure cause I did. Im just watching this so I could finish this asap and never continue to watch it if they green lit season 2.

As soon as the blue line appeared, I immediately thought of "lost" and "under the dome", two other shows where people are trapped someplace and there is some mysterious danger they must avoid.
This is very poorly written because there are lots of scenes where the simple question of "why" is never asked and that's how they string us along like they have done before.
It's not natural for humans not to ask obvious questions.
It takes more than some spooky music to not notice how lazy the writing is.
This show has potential because of the tension between the characters but the isolation/mystery element is just another run at an island or a dome.
I'll still watch it but the slow pace won't keep my attention for too long. It's too boring at this pace, and I am not as dumb as they must take me for.

I watch for Yvonne Strahovski. There's something about her - a magnetism, a quiet force - that makes you think she should be headlining films, not locked into roles on TV. Still, she owns every scene as Mrs. Waterford in "The Handmaid's Tale," the kind of role that gets under your skin and stays there. Then there's "Teacup." It wants to be eerie, unsettling, even grotesque. Instead, it drags, provoking yawns where there should be tension, eye-rolls in place of chills. Like the moment they buy the kid's story, then start throwing around the title "Assassin" like it's a game. Sure, the show is reaching for a place alongside the heavyweights of dystopian drama, but it misses the mark - plot, dialogue, even the characters - just shy of hitting the right notes.

At first I was not sure what this was about and stumbled across Teacup when looking for the next From episode. I was intrigued by the opening scene as I enjoy thriller and horror. As the first episode continued it reminded me of Color out of Space where the animals are starting to become aware of a benevolent entity. The continued mystery and gore in episode 2 has definitely left me wanting to know what is happening next. There were also remnants of the Thing in some of the CGI which is one of my favorite movies. I recognized most of the actors from years of watching too much TV and I am enjoying their performances so far.
Overall it has drawn me in and left me wanting more.

I wasn't sure about the show until the end of the second episode. No spoilers, but the sound effects alone were so visceral as to make me excited to see more! The visual effects also were also quite grotesque! The gore reminds me of the fun practical effects of 80/90s horror, but blended with CGI.
The show finds it's footing by the end of the second episode. I think it's absolutely fine for showrunners to take their time to work into the story - in the past we gave series a lot more time when 24 episodes was the norm.
I'll be interested to see what direction the show takes from here. Fun new show :)

Teacup on Peacock is yet another example of today's TV trend-taking what could be an engaging story and stretching it over eight episodes so slowly that you can practically watch the plot evaporate. The first six episodes are a masterclass in how to take ordinary, daily activities-making tea, staring into space, exchanging sighs-and somehow expect them to build suspense. It's the TV equivalent of watching paint dry, but with occasional brooding glances to remind you something "big" might happen.
And finally, when it all comes to a head in the last two episodes, you realize it's just more of the same, only louder and faster. The series wraps up by leaving just enough plot threads hanging-like an overworked screenwriter forgot to delete their sticky notes-to suggest a possible season two. Because why answer questions now when you can dangle the carrot of resolution just out of reach forever?
In the end, Teacup proves that modern screenwriting has become the art of saying nothing at great length. It's binge-watching at its worst: a narrative that's as lukewarm as the title and filled with enough empty space to make you question your life choices.

It seems like the director put all of the effort into the pilot episode. Well, to be exact, the first 2 episodes are really great, the show starts off very promising and sets up an intriguing and mysterious situation.
We're left wondering what's happening and is it really happening?
But then comes episode 3 and after minute 27, things start to fall apart. As soon as they try making sense and explaining what's going on, all of the magic and excitement and mystery that the first 2 episodes built up evaporates. Because it all becomes so boring and predictable.
Which is a real shame. I really wanted this show to be more, but this isn't Lost. And it certainly isn't From. It's just... bland.

If you've started watching this series & came here to see if it's worth continuing, stop now. Find something better. This had potential, but is bland & boring.
Episodes are padded out with dialogues that are irrelevant to the story & do nothing to develop the characters.
Each episode you hope for something different or exciting to happen & you're continually disappointed. You'll arrive at the end wishing you'd bailed earlier.
After reading some other reviews, I'm not sure if I wish I'd used the fast forward button or simply bailed out.

Those with the negative reviews made comment after the first few episodes.
Was it a little slow to start, yep. It didn't grab you straight away like big action films with huge budget stunt openers.
How ever the season was giving a background as it went through the first half of the season but the final episode of season 1 sped up and hit a home run.
I for one hope this is picked up for another season as I want to see where they go and i can see this building into a huge hit with at least 5-6 seasons if people give it a chance.
Great cast, good direction, good effects and fantastic story line.
I love my sci-fi and this doesn't disappoint.

Some people are trapped on a farm by unknown forces and have to figure out what happened to them and why.
Sounds familiar?
Yes, because, people being trapped somewhere while some horrors are closing in on them has been made a million times before.
I gave the show a try though, but when they disclose what it is all about, it just gets silly.
The trapped people also behave unbelievably stupid and there are many plot holes just to keep the silly story going.
Most of the characters are also just not interesting and you do not care at all what happens to them and the actors who portray them are mediocre at best.
In episode five they come up with a sort of background story which absolutely makes no sense at all, and you notice that you have watched something really stupid so far and wasted your time.
And from there everything goes downhill fast.
It is really a show the fast-forward-function was invented for.
But even that can't save it from me leaving it all together.

Episode 1 was setting it up. The cast is being introduced. Not bad but not super compelling.
Episode 2 we were getting more info and it was definitely becoming more interesting as events begin to unfold.
Episode 3 has us hooked. More events string along to give us a little more info as to how far reaching this, if any others are affected. The idea of a good guy and bad guy are introduced.
Even my teen daughters are watching with us we try to sort out what in the world is going on.
We are huge From fans. This is not From. But it is a horror thriller mystery show. It's its own thing.
Try to get through the first 3 episodes before signing off to see if it can hook you.

The first episode was so promising. I LOVE sci-fi and was hoping this would one be good. It definitely feels like a network NBC tv show. If you like those, you'll enjoy this (I'm not huge on network tv shows). Someone told me to watch it because I talked about how I really enjoy 'From'. I thought that was the vibe I'd get but once I got to episode 4, it definitely wasn't the same or anything similar. I tried to watch episode 5 this week and fell asleep. I don't really have any interest in going back to see the rest of episode 5 and/or check out 6. Maybe once all the episodes air I'll go back but it was boring and a big let down to me. If you want action and excitement... this one isn't that particular show. ✌🏽

I do not understand the negative reviews for this show. It takes time to tell the story and develop the characters like any show but if you pay attention it clearly lays out what's going one and it's quite intriguing imo. It really starts getting interesting about midway through the second episode and by the time you get to episode 8 you will know fully what's going on and want to know more. I love the fact that they keep you guessing for a while and only give bits a pieces of what is going on and they keynote that together yourself. To anyone claiming this show doesn't make sense, they either didn't give it enough time, didn't pay attention to what was going on, or aren't smart enough to piece it together lol. I truly doubt it's the last one because they lay it out so well it's quite easy to figure out. This isn't the type of shoe you can glance at while playing a video game or watching YouTube; you need to watch it with full attention or you may miss a small detail that will make it madder for you to put the pieces together and develope the full picture. I love it personally. Please keep making this show.

The show has a nice plot, a lot of mystery at the beginning however,
Charachters lack intelligence, they take stupid choices, make stupid decisions and the most important they never ask questions among everything weired happening around them.
They try to keep you in shadow with vague answers and vague scenarios, ending the shot at the most important moment when someone is about to explain something
Finding the origin of the problem, then deciding to ignore it and head home instead of dealing with it is one of the problems in this show
It started slow, Im not sure if I ll even reccomend it to anyone since the first 30 minutes are dull scenarios.

If you look past the main insufferable child actor, you get in revel in Yvonne Strahovski who has been a powerful actress on The Handmaid's tale. Something weird is definitely going on and it came me "From" vibes. The second episode was definitely the hook and I was definitely intrigued. I want to see where the episode goes. I feel to urge to binge it, if only they had released more episodes for a clear first season. I would not be surprised if the show becomes boring because the writing is not that good, but the actors did their best. I wish someone like Mike Flanagan was behind this because the child actor definitely needs to grow his craft. The show would be more terrifying if the child actor wasn't so insufferable.

Episode one was like, alright, but by the end of episode 2 I was fully on board. The visual effects are absolutely wonderful and weird, not to mention terrifying, and it sort of removes any assumptions you have about who the antagonist is by the mid-point of episode two. It leaves a bunch of questions and is frankly fascinating, with a combination of wonderful acting and worldbuilding making for a wild ride of a show. The show definitely is leaving me wanting for more, not because it is lacking in anything, but because it is consistently strange and unique. Suffice it to say, the devil has certainly gone down to Georgia, and I need to see more.

I liked it, it is like those mystery series, Lost, From and under the dome, except it actually has a story and it's not just trying to drag it out indefinitely!
Also being a horror fan I found some aspects interesting for that reason. Filming and editing is good, atmosphere and lighting is well done through gorgeous cinematography and lovely grading. Actors are also good, so well worth the watch if you like the series mentioned above or that type of thing.
Lastly, I haven't mentioned the story, I think it's decent, I do, I'm not sure how to put it but it makes for many suspense filled scenes and maybe that's is good enough.
