The fan tweeted, “How does Carrie Coon simultaneously look 35 and 55? Tbc she’s fine as hell but she looks old and young at the same time.”

Carrie, 43, is best known for her work on the HBO shows The Gilded Age and The Leftovers, as well as her performances in movies like Ghostbusters: Afterlife and His Three Daughters.

“Manhunt,” which starred Emmy-winner Tobias Menzies and Anthony Boyle, premiered this year on Apple TV+. There was a lot that went wrong with "Joker: Folie à Deux," the disastrous sequel of 2019's "Joker" that's set to make only a fraction of the first film's box office jackpot. But overshadowed by the movie's sluggish pacing and depressing subject matter is another minor disappointment: the lack of Justin Theroux. He's a great actor who helped make masterpieces like "The Leftovers" and "Mulholland Drive" shine, and he appeared briefly in "Joker" as the actor Ethan Chase, who Arthur watches on the TV as he appears on Murray Franklin's talk-show. 

Is Theroux the key ingredient to making sure a "Joker" movie reaches a billion dollars at the box office? Probably not, but a little sprinkling of Theroux always helps. For "Folie à Deux," Director Todd Phillips intended to give Theroux another cameo, this time in a trailer for the in-universe movie made about the Joker's actions in the first film.

We first heard that a live-action She-Ra series was in development at Amazon back in 2021, and while updates have been pretty much non-existent since, it seems the project is finally starting to take shape.

According to Variety, Heidi Schreck has come aboard the project as writer and executive producer. Robin Sweet will also executive produce, along with DreamWorks Animation.

Schreck has previously worked on the likes of Billions and Nurse Jackie at Showtime, as well as Dispatches from Elsewhere at AMC, and the Amazon series I Love Dick. She is arguably is best known for writing and starring in the critically-acclaimed play, What the Constitution Means to Me.

Nicole Kassell is set to direct and executive produce the pilot episode. The filmmaker has previously helmed episodes of HBO's Watchmen, Westworld, The Leftovers, The Americans, and Castle Rock, so this show is in good hands.

Earlier this week, Kyle Chandler of Friday Night Lights entered negotiations to star as Hal Jordan in the HBO series Lanterns, inspired by DC Comics’ Green Lantern characters. Now Deadline reports that Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) and Stephan James (Homecoming) have emerged as the top choices to play Jordan’s fellow Green Lantern John Stewart. Snowfall‘s Damson Idris was apparently in the mix at one point as well, but it looks like the conversation has come down to Pierre or James. Hilary Swank has been cast in the upcoming third season of Yellowjackets. According to Deadline, she'll be a recurring guest star with an option to bump up to a series regular should the show get renewed for a fourth season. No details have yet been released as to who Swank will play.

Margaret Qualley has landed a part in the new “Happy Gilmore” sequel coming to Netflix. Qualley, known for roles in “The Leftovers” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” is excited to join the cast of the upcoming comedy. She has been a long-time fan of the original 1996 movie starring Adam Sandler.

Qualley reached out to her agents right away when she heard “Happy Gilmore 2” was in development. She wanted any role, no matter how small, to be part of the project. Her determination paid off when her husband, musician Jack Antonoff, fibbed to Sandler about her golf skills. Antonoff responded to Sandler that Qualley was “actually good” at golf when asked. However, Qualley admits this wasn’t true. “I can’t golf. I’m terrible at it,” she told talk show host Jimmy Fallon.

Despite her lack of experience, Qualley has taken golf lessons to prepare for her role.

Dystopia is one of those sub-genres that lends itself to some interesting philosophical ideas and TV show creators take full advantage of that. In the history of cinema, many great directors and storytellers have created some of the most iconic movies set in dystopian societies like Blade Runner and Total Recall. There’s no question Carrie Coon broke out with HBO series “The Leftovers.” Landing that role was a big deal for the actress. “I had little on-camera work up to that point,” she told IndieWire over Zoom. “I had done some commercial work in Chicago. I had done one guest star on ‘The Playboy Club,’ with Laura Benanti. I didn’t have that much on-camera experience.”

But a Tony nomination for her performance as Honey in Steppenwolf’s 2012 production of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” opened doors to meetings with casting directors — and her husband Tracy Letts. All episodes of Twilight of the Gods are now streaming on Netflix, and the review embargo for Zack Snyder's adult animated Norse mythology series lifted around the same time the show premiered.

This isn't always a great sign, but the first wave of reviews have been mostly very positive.

Snyder's work has rarely gone over well with critics, but his last Netflix collaboration - the Rebel Moon movies - really came in for a drubbing. So far, Twilight of the Gods has fared a lot better.

Though there are some negative verdicts, the majority of write-ups praise the animation style, world-building, voice-acting and bloody action - although it sounds like Snyder may have overindulged in the graphic violence and sex a little too much for some tastes.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is bringing some beloved characters back to fans, but the sequel is also introducing a few fresh faces — relatively speaking, considering they might be dead.

The works of Stephen King will always continue to be rich and entertaining, whether they're dominating the pop cultural zeitgeist or not.
