In the script, the pirate captain was supposed to have his pants ripped off to reveal silly underwear but the actor only came with only a tiny thong underneath and so the director and director of photography called off the gag because there was a minor on the boat.

This is director Stanley Pomianowski's first feature film.

Erik Moore, who played the Crocodylus monster was formerly an alligator wrestler at Gator Land in Florida.

The part of Police Chief Rex was originally written for producer Michael McLaren so that he could reprise his role as Lex from the first Crocodylus film, but due to scheduling and Michael's desire to be the pirate boat captain, the role was changed to become Rex instead of Lex and a scene was added that explained why Lex was a boat captain now.
