Had the wonderful opportunity to watch this masterpiece at the Bengaluru International Film Festival today. No words can truly describe the experience. An emotional ride highlighting many areas including the compromises made due to urbanization,the simple life of the hill people and the bond they share with their land (they call themselves the children of the hills),a couple who feel isolated and disturbed about who would conduct their last rites and several unfulfilled promises by the government including transport facility,schools and hospitals. The cinematography is brilliant and captures the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand in its pristine glory. The lead actors are natural and the nativity factor they bring is a huge plus. Highly recommended if you enjoy parallel cinema.
