Lead actress Margot Bancilhon underwent two hours of daily hair & makeup prep for the role, in addition to a full day to reapply her fake tattoos every ten days.

Every episode of the first season opens with the same 2017 quote from then French president Emmanuel Macron advising young people to read the works of Karl Marx, the "father of communism". As such, each episode is titled after a quote from Marx. The series having been conceived to last three seasons and a wrap-up film, the following two seasons are meant to be themed after Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Friedrich Nietzsche respectively and the finale after an undetermined modern philosopher.
