This movie has missed the opportunity to be blockbuster because it lacks the story. Even no characters are there with you can make attachment everyone is just liking doing there role without any emotional build up. You don't know the reason why the villian is doing so they have no story of past of present it comes and go just like tv ads.
Some scenes are brutal which can help the movie if it linked with an emotion and story.
Only one thing is good about this movie is acting of Nayantara ana Jayam ravi.
Bgm is worst👎.
Some engaging scene are available.
Just watch movie for one time. Never watch it with high exception like Ratsasan and Imaikka Nodingal.

Film Review: Iraivan streaming on Netflix
Boasting of an impressive starcast with Jairam Ravi & Nayantara as the lead pair, Iraivan is a Tamil psychological thriller film where a psychopath called Brahma ( Rahul Bose) tortures & brutally murders young women and taunts the police with letters having a smiley 🙂. The police lose a few good men before the killer is caught but the killings start once again, making the police wonder whether they have caught the right man OR Is there another copycat killer on the loose !! It is up to ex- inspector Arjun to piece together all the clues and end the psychopath's reign of terror
The movie starts off very well , especially the first half is very gripping. However the second half seems stretched with lots of blaring errors in the screenplay which shouldn't have been there! How can an ex-cop get all privileges on par with cops working on the case , but without accountability? Poor cops working on the case are royally sidelined and seem low on morale with Arjun taking over and firing away with impunity!!
On the positive side, Jairam Ravi as ex- inspector Arjun has an impressive screen presence and shines in his role as a man obsessed with bringing the killer to book.
Nayantara, does decently in her small role as Arjun's love interest.
Not a total washout but cudve been better!!
Going with 2.5/5 for this one .. Adios🙂!!

If you are expecting a good crime thriller movie this is nowhere near that. Ultimate horrible movie. Don't chose this movie by watching trailer The movie is ultimately waste of time. Worst crime movie ever.
Failed to make emotional connection between audience and super lag and felt to run away from theater. All the scenes are super predictable.. Horrible acting as well.. Such a crap movie.. Even watching this movie in OTT also I won't suggest this movie.
Waste of money .. Not a recommended movie for a family or even for adults. It makes scary and wrong guidance for people..Intend people to do such wrong things.

"Iraivan," directed by I Ahmed, explores the idea that humans can be very dangerous. It's a film about serial killers, a topic that many people find fascinating. However, the film sometimes feels like it's trying to follow a trend rather than offering a unique perspective on the subject. There are many intriguing aspects to explore about storytelling in this genre, but the movie falls short in this regard.
The story revolves around two men, Bramma and Arjun. Bramma is a psychopath who believes killing humans is like killing mosquitoes, while Arjun is a fearless cop who delivers justice to criminals. The narrative focuses on someone who admires these men in disturbing ways.
Unfortunately, the film doesn't do justice to these interesting ideas. It feels like the director didn't venture beyond the initial concept. The only memorable scene is when a grieving father decides to join his deceased daughter after seeing a horrifying video of her murder. Jayam Ravi's tired portrayal of Arjun is a departure from his usual sharp roles.
The film emphasizes style with flashy visuals, but it lacks emotional depth. It relies too heavily on shock and gore. Female characters are poorly written and often reduced to victim roles, lacking depth and complexity. Priya, Arjun's love interest, comes across as insensitive, and her character seems forced.
The movie's lack of emotional consistency extends to the investigation. The senior cop often seems clueless about his team's discoveries, needing last-minute exposition to catch up. He scolds his officers only to backtrack when they reveal crucial findings. The climax follows a tired formula, with the cops arriving too late for the action. In a ludicrous flashback, Bramma's bizarre "mosquitoes equal humans" idea transfers to Babu after a single conversation. Many moments blur the line between genuine psychopathy and absurd parody.
Babu, an eccentric character, is portrayed effectively by Vinoth Kishan, but the script offers little depth beyond an intriguing concept. Even a suspenseful moment hints that Arjun is right about Babu, removing any chance for surprise. It's clear the hero can never be wrong, maintaining a basic level throughout most of the film.
The most complexity arises from Babu's need for validation from his self-declared mentor, Bramma, and his desire to see fear in Arjun's eyes. The film misses an opportunity to delve deeper into Babu's ego. There's potential for a more serious exploration beneath the surface.

Horrible movie. Looking at the trailer my family decided to watch in the theatre. But thank God we decided to wait for maran review. I watched it today and the best decision we made by not watching this horrible movie in theatre. Good we didn't spend money. This movie. Is not worth to watch in ott too lol. Very predictable. This movie should have been made maximum in one and half an hour. Unnecessarily two hours and thirty minutes made for absolutely no reason. Last fourth five minutes absolutely worthless. It was not even a one time watch movie. Please don't waste your time watching this worthless.

This film has got a lot of negative reviews. Guess, many people hesitate to watch because of "A"rating. Despite reading all media reviews/comments, I watched this racy film today without any expectations. To be honest,, It's a good thriller movie with lot of twists and turns. Most of the shots were Top angles, I appreciate the Cameramen. Good mind stirring BGM by Yuvan. The main protagonist Villain Rahul Bose / Hero Jayam Ravi carries the heavy role. As like all movies, there are few flaws and some logics are missing in the movie, but that can be easily ignored. It's definitely a worth watching movie. You cannot get the thrill when you watch it in small screens! Simply go and watch it in theatres with good sound system like Dolby Atmos, if you're looking for bloody thriller! You'd never regret for sure!

'"Iraivan" directed by I Ahmed, explores the idea about the animal character of humans. There is no space about SPOILER because we can understand the plot and full script in the very starting of the film.
I think the genre of the film is about thriller, but according to me there is no room for thrilling experience in this film. Infact I had watched this film because of his old movies such as "Adangamaru". I had been watching Jayam ravi's movies because of his script selecting, but in this case I don't know why I am disappointed.
According to me this film is below average. But in the case of Jayam ravi and Nayan thara they had done their role very well. Still waiting for their new combo.

A real faltu movie. Horrible acting. Horrible story. Horrible editing. Horrible cinematography. There is nothing right about this movie. I wish imdb had an option to rate zero as well.
Please don't waste your time. I read the reviews and I thought it cant be so bad. But it turned out worse than most of the reviews here.
Some people high on weed have scored this 7 and 8 and higher. But they don't mean it. It is the weed speaking for them in the reviews.
I will need to watch something really good to overcome this nightmare of a movie.
Please don't waste your time, you can find much better content on Netflix like Bodies. Watch that, it is a 10 on 10.

I don't know why this movie is receiving so unnecessary hate? This is a good thriller movie to watch & trust me it's not waste of time but let me tell you few things first - the murder scenes are bit harsh to watch so does this movie received 'A' certificate.
The thriller had its moments of suspense and kept me engaged throughout. The plot was intriguing, with unexpected twists that added to the excitement. The performances by the cast were decent, and the direction was also decent. However, there were a few clichéd moments (like how easily Bhrama influenced Babu & how ACP Arjun gave his gun to babu), and the pacing felt uneven at times. Overall, it provided a good dose of suspense, but the ending could be better!
Lastly I would like to say, you should give a try! It will not disappoint you.

This movie was completely taken to make some quick money based on recent craze with film fans for crime thrillers. And making the villain act menacing thinking they will get Oscar award - But in this case I don't think it worked out well. I guess it was a complete wrong move by the director and producer. Really disappointed with the story line completely predictable in all the placed, The so called twist did not hit hard to the audience and no homework done on how cops operate. Completely filmed based on Directors imaginary la la land. The only plus in the movie is the acting of senior actors like Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara.

This movie was very disappointing from the start and even Jayam Ravi couldn't save the sinking ship. This will go down as one of his worst movies. From color grading to storyline, the basic quality was lacking.
There is no thrilling element in the movie and I expected some twist in between the film but that was even worse. The director could have at least finished the movie earlier to avoid disappointing the audience. The movie dragged on, and I couldn't help but laugh when it finally reached the climax. I'm very sure people who watched this in the theater must have left very early because they couldn't have handled this below-average movie. Thank god at least we have the option to fast-forward a movie when it comes to an OTT platform.

Yes, that is exactly what the director of this movie is thinking, "Clickbait". Utterly and astonishingly boring, idiotic and stupid would be an understatement.
A story about a cop who loses almost everything to his pursuit and further cat and mouse game with a serial killer. A supposedly fearless protagonist (who contradicts the character by being in a perpetual state of stress and terror) does not give a hoot about anyone.
Then very briefly we have a psychologist who theorises that a killer who kills in multitudes just for fun cannot be categorised as a serial killer but a psychopath (go figure!). He isn't a one to shy away from using sarcasm in every sentence while treating the serial killer as a patient.
The acting is cringe. Oozes incompetence at another level altogether. The romantic angle is even cringier, if thats possible.
Give this a miss even if you are offered to get paid for watching it.
The biggest question that bugs me is who and how one opens a fully renovated, successfully running coffee business merely days after conceptualising the idea and amidst the death of a near and dear one less than a fortnight ago!!!

A psychopath named Brahma is committing brutal murders and is arrested soon by ACP Arjun. The price Arjun pays during the arrest results in him quitting the police force and try to lead a peaceful life. Brahma escapes and once again the killings begin. But this time, the killing pattern is lot more brutal and the target is obviously Arjun which forces Arjun to investigate on his own to nab Brahma. How Arjun solves the puzzle and nabs the criminal forms rest of the story.
The screenplay is the major culprit here, making this a dull watch right from the beginning. The loopholes are glaring and much of actions taken by the cops makes lesser sense. The baddie keeps casually escaping and the bodies keep piling up. The excessive violence especially in a genre like this needs to be thorough with the killer's pattern and motive. Even for the sake of the twist, the writing should've been tighter to sell it.
The other major minus is the characterization. Barring Rahul Bose as Brahma, even the main lead Jayam Ravi as Arjun doesn't get a proper character arc. Rest all the characters are half baked and Nayanthara too is barely there in the film. Just the brutal kills and the pain that latches onto the victims families isn't enough to carry the film through. The film simply drags on and on, with underdeveloped subplots and twists. Overall, Iraivan is a forgettable thriller and a wasted opportunity.

This movie does what it sets out to do. Showcase a decent thriller. Sure there are questionable moments and scenes or even logic.
But, really people? You want to question those things when movies like Jailer, Leo, KGF etc which have far more worse logic, can be supported to massive box office successes.
You want to talk about the gore aspect of this movie, I don't think they showed anything way too much compared to any previous thrillers.
Sure this movie has issues, but it's worth a watch nonetheless. You negative reviewers really need to broaden your horizon and watch much much more movies before coming here to comment about this one.
My praises to all those who played their role well.

Worst movie ever, save your time and energy by skipping it. I don't know how they came up with such a week plot like this. Rahul Bose is the only character that stays in our mind after watching the movie. He has done an extraordinary job other that nothing is worth talking about in this movie.
Even though the movie had a lot of experience actor none of them gel with the character Editing is also average. Music was good but the plot had n number of loose ends. Dialogue are repetitive, I watched this movie on Netflix happy I did not go to theater for it. In short save your time and energy by skipping this movie. And all the high rating review of this movie is totally fake 🤥

One of the cruelest movies made in Tamil Cinema.
3/4th of the movie travels into a genre making us believe that there's just one psycho guy who is being chased by the hero but then the last part of the film travels into a different psychopathic genre where a new kid is introduced as Villan as a twist and he plays few games that kinda makes it interesting to watch to some extent and the character design itself is made in such a way that it makes us feel irritated as well, that was a good artist selection, I'd say.
Overall, it's a one-time watchable flick for those who like watching cruelty/psycho-based films.

Stay away from these idiotic movies. No logic at all. Seems like the makers are flowing with the trend of psycho killer movies. But this movie had the worst script of all watched. Could be more in Tamil movie industry. Anyway I won't watch any more movie in this jonre from this industry.
Hero gifting gun to the criminal and allows him to create drama. He could have shot him long before and avoided all the turmoil. Unnecessary scenes infilled to create intensity in plot, drama, cruel scenes, brutality and all. Directors must show the guts to include muslim names among the criminal characters .

Total waste of time. Lost interest to watch any south Indian movie in future.
Main flaw is its abysmal storytelling, which fails to captivate or engage the audience. The supposed thriller aspects lack any semblance of suspense, stumbling through poorly executed sequences that utterly fail to generate any tension or excitement. The narrative's foundation is so weak that it simply doesn't allow the audience to form any emotional attachment to the characters or the storyline.
The dialogue is painfully dull, lacking depth or resonance. The overall production feels disjointed, making it a regrettable viewing experience, failing to leave any positive impact or entertainment value.
