Patriots won 28-24 after being down by 10 points at the start of the 4th quarter. A miraculous catch put the Seahawks in scoring position but the ball was intercepted by a Patriots rookie in the end zone. An encroachment call put the pats far enough away from the end zone to not get a safety when taking a knee, thus ending the game.
Super Bowl XLIX is the most watched TV program in U.S. history with 114.4 million viewers.
Following a Michael Bennett encroachment penalty, the game ended in a brawl in the final seconds after Tom Brady took a knee; linebacker Bruce Irvan of the Seahawks was ejected.
The Seahawks are the first team to play in consecutive Super Bowls since the Patriots did it in 2004-05.
