Well acted, well photographed, but weakly written melodrama focusing on the social issue of bullying and teenage suicide.
Sure bullies are bad, but did you have to make the villain so unrepentently horrible and back her up with two toadies? Did you have to have them resort to overt physical attack, and not just leave it at the just-as-devastating psychological shunning and victimization?
And did the broken friendship have to be so almost-too-sweet-to-be-believed initially and then so heart-breakingly final in its loss? And could the erstwhile boyfriend to be have done just something else than send a text hoping to see her?
Good message. Even a validly important one. But with a little more nuance in its presentation, it could have been much more persuasive.
