An eagle-eyed historian has identified 4 cast members who appear in the final couple reels of FREUDIAN, but the film's own identity remains a mystery. Its title doesn't match the action, and After Hours Cinema displays THE FREUDIAN THING title in front, taken from a completely unrelated soft-core opus.
Film opens with a lesbian scene of Betty and Diane with the odd touch of a straw used sort of as a dildo as well as slurping from Betty's vagina. Extreme gynecological closeups are a turnoff but staple element of the movie. Betty finally orders Diane to stop, "You'll be late for school!". The kid gets dressed and heads for high school, underage jail-bait being legal (they called it fiction back then) in 1970 porn.
Claustrophobic film stays in close on drab interiors: a balding guy barges in and humps Betty. He's her new neighbor and in porn rape is impossible so her initial protests fall on deaf ears. Photography is quite similar to that of the DVD's companion movie SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE, so the two films might have come from the same source. Betty stares long and hard at the camera at one point.
Dissolve mid-scene to a differently configured couple: same baldy Jim but now with Black girl Linda. They have sex, very poorly photographed and again no cum shot.
Redhead Diane pays a guy for sex, mostly presented soft-core. Betty returns home and joins in with them. Mid-scene Betty turns to the camera and asks the viewer directly: "What do you think of our friendly neighborhood - wouldn't you like to join us?". I took this to be a rhetorical question.
Next scene has a new couple, plus bad editing (a line is repeated from alternate take). The guy has trouble with his girl Nancy who doesn't like fellatio, so the new girl does it for him. Girls arrive looking to rent this house. Sex scenes involving them (Rosie and Hollie) make no sense with male cast members improvising and putting them on the spot so no one knows how to react (other than to pucker up and blow).
This half-hour seemed like a lengthy excerpt from a 1-day wonder I had seen before probably via Something Weird, but was so generic in content I couldn't begin to identify it - key clue is the gimmick of dudes faking a room for rent in order to seduce girls. In the final reel Hollie can't remember a guy's name, so we hear the director yelling loudly: "Cut, Do it over!" and the scene is repeated but with name enunciated properly. Film ends abruptly as Rosie is still talking.
The fact that the recognized actors are only the foursome of the final portion supports my notion that this untitled epic is merely a paste-up job.
