Seth Goldman suffers from stage 4 cancer. After going through treatment and several trials, he is facing his dying with the help of a hospice, thinking about the meaning of life, worrying about what will happen with his kids, and coming to terms with his mortality. Then his long-lost brother appears. Seth and Jacob have not spoken in 20 years. Jacob uses Seth's children to convince him to pursue a risky, experimental clinical trial so that he can have more time. Seth is torn between his desire for a peaceful death and leaving his family with the belief that he did everything possible to spend more time with them.
