As the election cycle heats up, illegal immigration has become the focal point of lots of one-dimensional rhetoric, particularly among the Republican candidates. It's a complex issue, one that touches on many aspects of American life, and it's something that requires a more thoughtful discussion than the soundbites that get condensed and transmitted through the news cycle. The upcoming drama "Mi America" offers an opportunity for a different perspective on a topic many are talking about around the country. Directed by Robert Fontaine, and inspired by true stories from across the U.S., the film follows Hispanic-American detective Rolando Ramirez who is assigned to investigate the kidnapping and disappearance of five Hispanic migrant laborers. It's a case that will force him to look at his own relationship with his identity, and as you'll see in the clip below, tensions are always floating right at the surface, ready to go off.
