Featured review
Based on a great premise, this film was a good effort by those involved with great performances by Seattle indie veteran Conner Marx and talented newcomer Leah Pfenning who acted beautifully without saying a thing. The synopses states "when C.B. invites Mark into her carefully protected world unexpected consequences follow" but in the film it is not clear that her world is "carefully protected" - it seemed like just a job that she (presumably) would not want to lose due to Mark's buffoonery. On the whole, there was not enough development of the main characters to give the betrayal, and its consequences the weight and meaning that would really engage the audience emotionally. C.B. could have been more isolated, her would-be-lover, Mark, more abrasive rather than hopelessly immature. I really wanted to cheer when C.B. uttered her first words in the film, but instead her biting venom felt out of place.
