Actor Andrew Buchan makes his screenwriting debut with ITV thriller Passenger, and here’s the trailer.
Andrew Buchan is probably best known for playing grieving father Mark Latimer in Chris Chibnall’s whodunnit Broadchurch. He has also played the title role in drama The Fixer, as well as parts in films like Nowhere Boy, All The Money In The World and The Mercy.
He now makes his screenwriting debut with ITV thriller Passenger.
The synopsis reads as follows:
Riya (Loki star Wunmi Mosaku) arrived in the quiet town of Chadder Vale five years ago and has since been searching for something, anything that will make her feel alive again. Then one night local girl Katie Wells (Rowan Robinson) mysteriously disappears. The town barely has time to register her absence before she reappears the next day, apparently safe and sound. If you could become a TV or film character – either one you’ve played or not – for a week, who would you be? Doartpho
At the moment, I’d like to be Mary Poppins, because she’s incredibly efficient and I need to tidy my apartment. Being her for a week would help me out massively. I’d like to see what Chloe Gemell from My Mad Fat Diary is doing. I wonder where she is now, what she’s up to? She’s very innocent, which I enjoyed.
How would your most famous roles have differed had you chosen to play them with your natural Liverpudlian accent? TopTramp
They probably would have differed quite a lot, although I feel Villanelle [from Killing Eve] would suit being a scouser.

Barbie may be everything, and Ken is just Ken, but what about the people in the Real World they meet along the way? Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, based on the popular dolls, is a hyper-stylized take on the Mattel toys that sees the titular doll journey from Barbie Land to the Real World on a quest of self-discovery.

In 1973, the killer of Welsh teenagers Sandra Newton, Pauline Flynn and Gwendoline Hughes was not caught, despite a high-profile and widespread investigation by South Wales Police. The girls’ families spent the next three decades not knowing who was responsible for brutally taking the lives of their loved ones, or whether he still lived alongside them in the local Neath and Port Talbot communities.
In 2002, a development in forensics changed everything. The cold case was reopened with much pared-down resources, and crime scene DNA was successfully used to identify Wales’ first recorded serial killer. Steeltown Murders is the story of the loss, guilt and suspicion that followed the 1970s murders, and of the perseverance of the officers who were eventually able to provide the victims’ families with the answers they’d been denied years before.
Here are the actors making up the cast behind Steeltown Murders‘ dramatisation of real-life figures and events.

We're less than three months out from the most colorful film of the summer: "Barbie," led by the talents of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, wherein Greta Gerwig ("Lady Bird") delivers a feminist take on the iconic Mattel fashion doll, off an original script she co-wrote with filmmaker partner Noah Baumbach ("Marriage Story"). Despite the sheen of corporate synergy all over it, "Barbie" is somehow one of the most highly-awaited movies of 2023.
It doesn't hurt that "Barbie" has an absolutely stacked ensemble cast. Kate McKinnon ("SNL"), Issa Rae ("Insecure"), Hari Nef ("Transparent"), Alexandra Shipp ("Straight Outta Compton"), Emma Mackey ("Sex Education"), Sharon Rooney ("My Mad Fat Diary"), singer Dua Lipa, Nicola Coughlan ("Derry Girls"), Ana Cruz Kayne ("Little Women"), and Ritu Arya are all playing different kinds of Barbie, in addition to Robbie as main Barbie.

In 2019 “Killing Eve” lead Jodie Comer triumphed as Best Drama Actress on her very first Emmy nomination, notably defeating her co-star Sandra Oh, who was then on her eighth career acting bid. The 26-year-old thus became the all-time youngest Best Drama Actress winner and held that record until the very next year, when she was beaten on her second outing by Zendaya. Now that she has been recognized for her work on the final season of “Killing Eve,” Comer stands behind only Peggy Lipton (“The Mod Squad”) among the youngest women to amass three Best Drama Actress nominations.

Comer has submitted the season four “Killing Eve” episode “Don’t Get Eaten” for Emmy consideration. In the installment, which aired on BBC America in March, she plays both regular character Villanelle and a Christ-like apparition with whom Villanelle interacts.

As the U.K. film and TV industry has boomed in recent years, bullying and harassment in the workplace has become endemic to the sector, with 84% of workers experiencing such abuse themselves or witnessing it, according to the Film and TV Charity. Now, a new app is empowering the local workforce to call bad behaviour out.
Recently launched in beta mode, “Call It!” asks the staff of companies and productions that sign up to the initiative three questions every day for the duration of a project, the main one being “How were you treated at work today?” A traffic light system gives users three options to answer, with green indicating they were treated well, orange for “okay” and red for those who felt they were treated badly.
The app is entirely anonymous, and there’s no place for specific feedback that may identify the user. Those who wish to elevate...

Film4, Shoebox, SunnyMarch back the film along with Studiocanal and Amazon Studios.
Spanning the late 1800s through to the 1930s, the movie tells the true story of Wain, who was famous for his distinctive paintings of cats, and portrays his close relationship with his wife Emily Richardson, played by Claire Foy, the BAFTA-nominated actor of “The Crown.”
The clip debut gives audiences a first glimpse of Cumberbatch as Wain, “whose fascination with the mysteries of the world is both complicated and deepened when he meets the love of his life Emily,” says Sharpe. Wain’s wife was a driving force behind his art as...

The Irregulars is the latest one-and-done series at Netflix.

Sherlock Holmes drama came in at No. 1 on Nielsen’s Top 10 SVOD rankings the week after its March 26 launch
“The Irregulars” has been canceled by Netflix after one season, TheWrap has learned.
The Sherlock Holmes drama, which launched March 26, came in at No. 1 on Nielsen’s Top 10 SVOD rankings the week after it premiered. That put it above Disney+ Marvel series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” in Week 2.
Based on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and set in Victorian London, “The Irregulars” follows a gang of troubled street teens who are manipulated into solving crimes for the sinister Doctor Watson and his mysterious business partner, the elusive Sherlock Holmes. As the crimes take on a horrifying supernatural edge and a dark power emerges, it’ll be up to the Irregulars to come together to save not only London but the entire world.

The Irregulars on Netflix edged The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ on Nielsen’s weekly U.S. streaming chart.
The supernatural Sherlock Holmes drama tallied 643 million minutes of viewing during the week of March 29 to April 4, compared with 628 million for Falcon. In a key difference, though, there are eight episodes of The Irregulars, compared with three for the Marvel series, which used Disney’s usual weekly release model. Nielsen’s rankings always reflect a nearly month-long lag time, by arrangement with streaming providers.
The Irregulars is a new twist on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s tales of Holmes, Doctor Watson and the other Baker Street staples. Billed as a darker take, it centers on a gang of troubled teens and departs from other Sherlock adaptations by depicting Watson as a sinister figure. Tom Bidwell, whose credits include Watership Down and My Mad Fat Diary, is the show’s writer and an executive producer.
