The fireworks scene was filmed on the beach at the Fiesta Americana Hotel at 2-3am without any warning to hotel guests. Guests were shocked awake by the sound of explosions outside their window, prompting many complaints to hotel management.

Goofs
The prize money for the rooster fight is 70 000 pesos, less than 5 000 US dollars. Logan needs to buy back the Rolex for 5 000 dollars. When they return to the hotel, Blake goes for a night on town. "We have money" he says. Logan warns him: "Don't spend all the money". There was no money to spend if he wanted the watch back.

Nothing Special

Sundown appears to be a typical high school teen type comedy with the occasional drama in which we have seen before. The film is what is expected it to be. There is conflict which occurs where everything is quite predictable. There are some decent moments in the end, as the film does get better as it progresses but overall, Sundown is just another forgettable film with nothing new to offer.

The casting isn't bad, but it's obvious the leads aren't teenagers as their characters are portrayed as. The humor is just isn't there, and at times it can be quite unfunny and feels forced.
