From Kyle Reese to Cpl. Dwayne Hicks and beyond, Michael Biehn is well-known within the horror and sci-fi genres for playing memorable characters throughout his career. At the recent Crypticon Minneapolis, I had the great pleasure of speaking with Biehn about potentially reprising his role as Hicks in a new Alien film, the intense shoot of The Divide, and more.
Through his concept art, Neill Blomkamp has shown interest in bringing back Cpl. Dwayne Hicks in a new Alien film. Despite the project recently being put on the back burner, what are your thoughts on the potential new film and possibly reprising your role as Hicks?
Michael Biehn: My guess is they would bring back Hicks, and Newt is now going to be about twenty-six or twenty-seven [and be played by] some hot young actress who can really tear it up. I'm guessing Sigourney [Weaver] will pass the mantle to the younger woman and...

Welcome to another horror/sci-fi round-up! This time around we have word of two big cast confirmations for Independence Day 2, details on Scream Factory's Deep in the Darkness Blu-ray / DVD release, and information on the new Blanc/Biehn Productions film, Treachery.
Independence Day 2: Last night it was revealed that the first official cast member had signed on to star in Roland Emmerich's Independence Day 2, the sequel to his 1996 film that featured massive alien-induced destruction and larger-than-life characters. It's now been confirmed that one of those characters will be coming back, as Emmerich tweeted last night that Jeff Goldblum will appear in the sequel, likely reprising his role as the brainy and dryly humorous David Levinson, who teamed up with fighter pilot Captain Steven Hiller to take down the mothership in the original film. Smith will not be coming back to reprise his role as Steven.

With filming of Blanc/Biehn Productions' remake of Hidden in the Woods set to begin July 1st in and around Houston, Texas, all the major players are lining up, and handling effects will be Vincent Guastini's V.G.P. Effects & Design Studio.
Hidden in the Woods star Michael Biehn met Guastini when they briefly worked together on Sushi Girl (in which Hitw co-star Andy Mackenzie also appeared), and Biehn was so impressed with V.G.P.'s work, the producers asked Guastini to come on board and supervise with Evelyn Belmar and Vanessa Cartier. Some of Guastini's previous credits include Silent Night, ColdWater, The Devil's Carnival, Under the Bed, and Hansel & Gretel Get Baked, just to name a few.
