Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden are stepping down from their production banner Arcade Pictures.

The company’s debut feature, “The Outrun,” is set to have its international premiere at the Berlin Film Festival next week. The film world premiered at Sundance last month.

Lowden, who’s currently starring in “Slow Horses,” set up Arcade Pictures in 2019 alongside “Modern Life is Rubbish” producer Dominic Norris, who will stay on at the company.

“Little Women” star Ronan joined as a company director in 2021.

In 2022 Arcade Pictures unveiled its first major feature film project, an adaptation of Amy Liptrot’s addiction memoir “The Outrun” directed by Nora Fingscheidt.

“Arcade was formed to make ‘The Outrun’ and Dominic will continue to drive that banner’s train,” said a spokesperson. “Jack and Saoirse are excited to celebrate the film as it makes its debut and beyond, and will continue looking for more passion projects to develop together in the future.

Blur took the stage at the Colchester Arts Centre in Colchester, England on Friday. The concert served as a warm-up show ahead of the band’s summer reunion tour — their first such outing in eight years.

The 23-song setlist boasted several notable moments, including the debut of two tracks from their newly announced album The Ballad of Darren: “The Narcissist” and ” St. Charles Square.”

The band also performed “Villa Rosie,” from 1993’s Modern Life Is Rubbish, for the first time ever, and dusted off live rarities “Chemical World,” Oily Water,” and “Popscene.”

The Ballad of Darren is due out on July 14th. Over the course of the summer, they’ll play shows in the UK, Europe, Japan, and South America. Tickets are available through Viagogo.

The UK feature debut, starring Tamara Lawrance (The Long Song), Jack Lowden (Fighting With My Family) and BAFTA-winner Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), has sold to Sky Cinema for the UK and Ireland, Signature Entertainment for Australia/New Zealand and South Africa, Imagine Film for Benelux, Russian World Vision for Cis and Empire Networks for the Middle East. Beta will continue sales at the upcoming virtual EFM.

In Kindred, plagued by mysterious hallucinations, a pregnant woman suspects that the family of her deceased boyfriend has bad intentions for her unborn child.

Directed by Joe Marcantonio, the film was previously released by IFC Midnight in the U.S. Actor Lowden and producer Dominic Norris (Modern Life Is Rubbish) produce through their recently-launched Scotland-based production banner Reiver Pictures.

T2 Trainspotting leads charge for Scottish BAFTAs Danny Boyle's T2 Trainspotting has been nominated for five awards by Bafta Scotland.

The sequel to the 1986 hit is in the running for best film, best director, plus best actor nods for Ewen Bremner, Robert Carlyle and Ewan McGregor.

Exclusive: Movies with a Scottish flavour include Daphne, The Last Photograph, The Marker, while Okja will also screen.

The Edinburgh International Film Festival has revealed a host of movies with Scottish connections set to play at its 70th anniversary edition.

Scottish director Peter Mackie Burns will bring his debut Daphne, which stars Emily Beecham (Hail Caesar) and Geraldine James (Sherlock Holmes), while Scottish actress Freya Mavor (Sunshine On Leith) stars in the world premiere of comedy-drama Modern Life Is Rubbish.

Filmmaker Justin Edgar also returns to the Eiff with The Marker, starring veteran Scottish actor John Hannah; while The Last Photograph, starring Danny Huston, revolves around the Lockerbie disaster.

Bong Joon Ho’s latest offering Okja, starring Eiff honorary patron Tilda Swinton, will also screen and there will also be showcases of local icons Sean Connery and Robbie Coltrane.
