I watched this short movie. It's very gripping and presents an unfortunate reality that so many women face silently every day. It dealt with some hard facts in a very delicate manner. That your education may have nothing to do with your being a victim of intimate partner violence is a very important one. The other theme that seemed to emerge is that the person who inflicts violence is himself suffering from a severe mental health disorder. As much as we need to highlight the plight of these women and protect them, as a society we also need to explore the situations that lead to this mental health disorder among such men, and understand what we can do to prevent it and support these men as well. A very gripping and thought-provoking movie...
This short film brought back for me all the horrifying experiences we all had throughout Pandemic COVID 19 during the past two years. The most terrifying possibility was contracting Covid. This superbly shot 15-minute short film is based on COVID 19 and the domestic violence that the majority of women still experience in silence today. It's high time now for women to take a stand and fight for their rights. The two extremely brilliant actors Joy Sengupta and Mona Singh give a wonderful performance. The kid performance is superb. We should all be grateful to Sonya V. Kapoor, the story's writer and director, for her work.

Mona Singh has done a phenomenal job and complete justice to the role. It uncovered the backstory of all covid fighters (doctor), which had a very dark hectic phase 6 months after the covid strike in India,
I have felt this great story from the bottom of my heart because I have witnessed the moment that covid has created inside the home, not only mine but others too. The depression of finance, relations and trapped feeling inside the home led to growth in domestic violence.
Along with this, the story also revealed the stress, which was an experience by women during the lockdown and home pressure could not be expressed in words. Great salute to all women and doctors who have fought this great battle with great courage and patience.
Ek chup's story was a truly unique story of domestic violence, but it has to give a lesson to all co-partners who ignore the mental and emotional wellness of their wife and just think they are the only ones who handle all sorts of pressure and ignore the mental wellness of wife.
It is a must-watch story for all couple to understand their partner, mentally, physically and emotionally, to live life happily under the worst conditions.

I recently watched the short film "Ek Chup" and was thoroughly impressed by the emotional depth and powerful storytelling of this film.
The film follows the story of a young girl named Sara, who is struggling with the challenges of growing up and finding her place in the world. As she grapples with the expectations placed upon her by society and her own family, she finds solace in the quiet moments of her day, when she can escape the noise and chaos of the world and simply be herself.
One of the things that I particularly appreciated about "Ek Chup" was the way it explored the theme of identity and the importance of finding one's own voice. Sara's journey to discover who she is and what she wants is one that will resonate with many people, and the film handles this topic with sensitivity and care.
Mona Singh's acting in this film is also top-notch, with all of the performers delivering heartfelt and authentic performances. The cinematography is beautiful, capturing the lush beauty of the film's setting and adding to the overall atmosphere of the film.
Overall, "Ek Chup" is a beautifully crafted and deeply moving short film on domestic violence that is sure to stay with you long after you've watched it. I highly recommend giving it a watch if you get the chance.

A good example of "desperate times call for desperate measures". This short film encapsulates the overall frustration felt during the Covid-19 lockdown.
When the lockdown was forcing people to stay at home providing families with more time to be spent together, there were spike in divorce and domestic abuse.
I hope such films get the attention they deserve and raise awareness about domestic abuse, which is often ignored.
I grew up watching Jassi aka Mona Singh, who is a fantastic actor who nails every role to perfection. The girl does an excellent job acting.
Worth watching with your whole family. Nicely directed, looking forward to watch more films directed by Sonya Kapoor.

The best was I do not have to waste 3 hours to watch this Movie. Short Movies are depicting very well now-a-days. It's a worth watch Family drama in just 15 minutes. A must watch short film on Covid and Domestic Violence. Domestic Violence is the main reason behind divorce for many, the other reasons you already know could be dowry or some external relationships. Covid has caused frustration for many. But Mona Singh played the role really well. And the Kid acting was awesome. Excellent Direction by Sonya Kapoor. Worth spending your 15 minutes to watch such short movies. Such movies must be promoted, but may be due to short budget, it gets any exposure. But as it's on Hotstar OTT, it will reach mass audience.
