Ray Bradbury's Pillar of Fire is coming to Hollywood. Actor Bill Oberst Jr. (Coyote) will be part of five performances, on the material. The performances will begin June 5th and run into June 25th. And, Pillar of Fire is a story, based on a dystopic future world, in which the walking dead return. A preview of Oberst Jr.'s five run show is hosted here. Bradbury's original story was set in 2349. In the future, superstition and religiosity are banned. The dead are cremated by the thousands. And, a walking corpse is determined to bring back fear, to the disbelieving masses. Oberst Jr. has something to say about his upcoming show. He mentions how actor Vincent Price would tour the world, with interpretations of Edgar Allen Poe's works: "Vincent Price used to tour the world with living renditions of Poe's works that delighted fans. I'd like to do the same with Ray Bradbury.

It’s lucky 13 — as in 13th annual edition — for Switzerland’s Lausanne Underground Film Festival, an epic celebration of cinematic weirdness, violence, filth and everything else that makes life worth living. The wild debauchery runs October 15-19.
The fest opens on Oct. 15 with the feature film debut by Leah Meyerhoff, I Believe in Unicorns, which tells the story of a troubled teenage girl who runs away with an aggressive older boy.
Other new films include the misanthropic comedy Buzzard by Joel Potrykus; the deep woods psychological thriller Mother Nature by Johan Liedgren; the complex Japanese drama Kept by Maki Mizui; and more.
Luff this year is really stuffed with great retrospectives beginning with a tribute to Beth B, who has been churning out controversial, thought-provoking flicks since the New York No Wave era to know. There will be screenings of her classic films, such as The Offenders and Salvation!, and her latest documentary,...

It's that time of year where horror sites and fans present their Best Horror Films of 2013 lists. For some reason I've typically steered clear of top lists in the past. I think it's mostly because of the constant whining and bellyaching that occurs once lists are released. Plus there will inevitably be good films that didn't make the list. However, mostly it's the constant cries of "That wasn't a horror movie that was a thriller stupid!" or "That movie released last year dummy!" or "There are too many mainstream releases here losers!" or my personal favorite "That film totally sucked so you guys suck!", that really get to me.
This year I decided to go ahead and make a MoreHorror Top 20 Horror Films of 2013 list because a lot of people seem interested in our take. Yes there are some mainstream Hollywood films on the list,...

Here's a clip from an arthouse horror film that has been banned at some film festivals and has won awards at others in its first public screenings: controversial director Trevor Juenger's Coyote.
The film stars Bill Oberst, Jr., as an insomniac writer whose sleep-deprived hallucinations distort reality as paranoia drives him to extreme violence. The surreal shocker, which mixes arthouse and horror, is shopping for distribution, and it's first public screenings have elicited strong reaction.
Director Trevor Juenger tweeted last week from a festival, "Someone in the audience keeps yelling What Is This? and What Does It Mean? We're going to give him an aneurysm by film's end." Juenger says a college screening of Coyote was shut down mid-film by an administrator citing "<>extreme violence" while another public screening in the director's hometown of St. Louis had to be cancelled when the theater owner refused to run the film due to "extreme content.

Trevor Juenger's surreal horror Coyote now has a short video clip for fans. This title was recently shown at the Pollygrind Film Festival. And, the film central stars horror vet' Bill Oberst Jr. (Children of Sorrow), along with Joe Hammerstone (Tales of Fear) and Victoria Mullen. This title might be coming to a theatre near you. And, fans of arthouse in cinema can view the expressionistic clip below. The film involves a paranoid writer, whose insomnia leads him to violence and self-destruction. This is Juenger's first feature film and it is already receiving praise from websites. Greg Baty at Cinesploitation enjoyed the "nightmarish imagery," while Mike Thomas at Matchflick felt lost in the story: "It is a film that you don't understand, rather you hold on, or get lost forever." Some of those bizarre visuals and strange story details can be found in the clip below. Release Date: Tba.

Written and directed by Trevor Juenger, Coyote stars Bill Oberst Jr. as Bill a struggling writer who deals with insomnia. His problems seem to begin when he types the phrase “sleep is the enemy” on his old typewriter. Bill is plunged into some gruesome and bizarre circumstances, including murder, aliens hiding among us, a video camera with a vagina, and applying for a job at a home shopping channel.
Coyote is one of the strangest films I’ve ever seen. Bill’s psyche begins to suffer rather quickly when he begins experiencing disturbing hallucinations due to the fact that he hasn’t slept in days.
The line between reality and fantasy is ultimately obliterated and Bill just about loses his mind. Bill Oberst Jr. is fantastic in this film. He beautifully and convincingly captures a man’s descent into abject madness. He scared me.

I saw Coyote last month when it played at midnight at the Mx Theater in downtown St. Louis and found it to be a dark and disturbing home-grown chiller. There’s another screening this Friday night (June 14th), also at the Mx, but it starts at 11pm instead of midnight. This time there will be short films from James Westbrook, Dylan Schnitker, and Carrie Juenger (hers is called Crabs In The Dollhouse) and Daniel Irwin will be there to read some “weird and hilarious” poetry.
Also, the filmmakers will be participating in a Q&A session after the credits so if you’re curious about what the heck you just saw, here’s your chance.
Check it out at the new luxury theatre Mx Movies in downtown St. Louis (618 Washington Ave St Louis, Mo 63101). The screening is at 11:00pm and is Free! It’s a neat theater and since it’s free,...

My favorite line from this trailer: “The blood and guts fly out….the camera does not stop rolling!”…Well, let’s hope not!
The movie’s lead actor, who is slicing his way through more than half-naked nubile bodies is Bill Oberst Jr. If you were at the screening of the St. Louis-lensed shocker Coyote last month at Mx Theater, you saw that film’s star Mr. Oberst who is currently swinging for the title of “Hardest Working Man In Horror” with no less than twelve major roles in independent horror films this year. Bill’s most famous role was as honest Abe in Abraham Lincoln Vs Zombies (2012), which, though not quite as good as Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter, was far superior than that boring-ass Speilberg movie.
The Los Angeles-based actor has just arrived in the woods of Kentucky to start shooting his 6th feature film of the year (The...

I’ve been looking for an excuse to check out the new Mx Movie Theater in downtown St. Louis and now I think I’ve found it.
Coyote, the St. Louis-lensed shocker from Writer/Director Trevor Juenger will be making its hometown debut this Friday night, April 26th, at the new luxury theatre Mx Movies in downtown St. Louis (618 Washington Ave St Louis, Mo 63101). The screening is at 11:30pm and is Free!
Coyote, an “art-horror feature” tells of a writer (Bill Oberst Jr) whose insomnia causes him to suffer hallucinations. He’s distracted, irritated and slowly going mad. He’s soon taking it out on the people around him, and he’s not afraid to take violent measures. Bill Oberst played Honest Abe in Abraham Lincoln Vs Zombies which was actually better than the Spielberg film! Joe Hammerstone, Bill Finkbiner, Tasha Zebrowski, and Victoria Mullen round out the cast.

Coyote is an indie horror title from director Trevor Juenger. In the film, the character Bill (Bill Oberst Jr.) descends into madness. Bill acts strangely and he voices his inner turmoil and false beliefs because of mental illness. Very surreal, Coyote is an arthouse pic' that will entertain fans of the darkly bizarre. In the film's first trailer, Bill seems to rant and rave as he interacts with a handful of other characters. One girl deliciously sucks on Bill's thumb? Another character wants to hear Bill, a writer, tell a macabre story. Juenger's style of filmmaking and creation of characters really brings out the darker parts of cinema in this early reel. Have a look below. Director/writer: Trevor Juenger. Cast: Bill Oberst Jr., Joe Hammerstone, Victoria Mullen, Bill Finkbiner, Shawn I. Chevalier and Heather Schlitt. For those of us that live in St. Louis we know how hot and humid the summer can get. Sometimes it is unbearable and sometimes it can make you crazy. We encourage you to check out this interesting trailer for the art-horror film that was lensed in St. Louis during a heat wave.

There have always been two things we can count on…death and taxes. We'd like to petition adding "Bill Oberst, Jr., will be creepy in his next film" to that list. Oberst delivers big time every time out, and his new film, Coyote, is no different.
