The murders happened over a 15 month period (possibly extended to 5 years if 3 further probable murders in the area are attributed to the same killer) and yet he was not brought to justice until almost a quarter of a century later, thanks in part to advances in DNA. It is the most expensive Police investigation in Western Australia.
