The streamer has set a new weekly series — Live From the Other Side With Tyler Henry — that is scheduled to kick off Sept. 17, with new episodes streaming live every Tuesday at 3 p.m. Pst. Alan Sparhawk, the singer and songwriter formerly of Low, has announced that his debut solo album, White Roses, My God, will be out everywhere on September 27th via Sub Pop. He’s also shared the first single, “Can U Hear,” and announced a handful of US tour dates set for 2025.

The Minnesota native recorded White Roses, My God in Duluth, where Low began, and produced it alongside Nat Harvie. It serves as Sparhawk’s first official solo album, though he did release a collection of ambient vignettes and soundscapes called Solo Guitar in 2006.

Similar in style to the songs on The Collective, the Justin Raisen-produced “Ecrp” features industrial, hip-hop-influenced sonics and stream-of-consciousness lyrics. Throughout the track, Gordon uses body part imagery (“Vein to the chest/ Tubes like garden hose/ Pumping in the fresh”) and sings of “rumors of free speech.”

If I had a dollar for every time I predicted the twists and turns in the new movie The Collective, I wouldn’t be even close to being a millionaire, for there are not that many twists here in the first place. Directed by Tom DeNucci, The Collective is like a stepping stone for the performers to showcase their skills, and the film unfolds like it’s well aware of that fact. The film has a decent star cast with actors like Don Johnson, Paul Ben-Victor, and Tyrese Gibson added to the mix who do a good job, but it is Lucas Till who gets to play the title role. I should add that he falters badly as he is unable to add to the stakes of this action thriller. See, that’s what Tom Cruise does well in the “Mission Impossible” franchise. He sells you the movie by acting like it really matters.
