How much we wanted this western to live up to it's 7.9 Rating. Terrible, excessive, painfully poor acting by some of the main characters, barely believable story. Honestly, I wasn't planning to write a review as I am usually far too lazy but, on impulse, I chose to lookup True Grit - suspecting that even that classic would be ranked at lower than 7.9. And so it was. True Grit is rated at 7.4 as of this writing. Spurred by this travesty, here I am to say my piece. We looked forward to seeing Cole Hauser in a new movie. Although he wasn't given much to do, he was believable and gave a credible performance. Steven Dorff didn't have the same presence as he did in Old Hernry, hisThe roles of two of the stars. The actors playing Reno and Vegas just weren't good. Perhaps it was the material they were given to work with. The writing wasn't a highlight. Lots of shooting, blood spatters, fingers being chopped off, etc. If these things are your bag, however, give this clunker a try.

Not even five minutes into this movie I wanted to turn it off, but I stuck it out a full half hour before eventually giving up on this unwatchable western. From the soundtrack to the unbelievable acting I wasn't drawn in by any aspect of this movie.
None of the characters make an attempt to even sound period appropriate. Dialogue is flat and uninteresting. Despite having some of the Yellowstone actors on set, even they couldn't make this movie bearable to watch. Cole Houser gives the most believable Cowboy performance of the cast, and even here I was disappointed that there wasn't more grit in his character and dialogue. There rest of the cast seems to be what today's Hollywood thinks a Cowboy should be and it's not at all believable.
I can't make much more of a review because I admittedly tapped out of this train wreck early, but I doubt anyone was going to suddenly learn how to portray a western cowboy if they didn't figure it out in the first half hour.
Save your time and find another western to watch, this one will disappoint even the most casual western fan.

I saw the preview somewhere online and was kinda excited to see it. Nope. I like Stephen Dorff and Cole Hauser. Felon is an underrated movie. I feel like Mr Dorff owed a favor to Val Kilmer and did a movie with his son Jack. Not sure if they were trying to make it look old but it looked like something from the early 90s. The acting was really bad and cheesy. The slow motion effects were in needed. Boring plot. Oh yeah did I mention the acting was really bad. Corin Nemec of Parker Lewis fame was a producer. Pretty sure he did it so he could be in the background making dumb faces the whole movie. Again bad bad acting. First time in my life I've left a review. That's how much I'm trying to save someone from watching this.
This movie is where actors careers go to die, my kid had better acting in the 4th grade Dr Seuss play at school. Plot line felt haphazardly put together. I would say Hauser and Dorff were redeeming qualities but they weren't enough to help even a little. I'm not sure if the bad acting, poor cinematography, boring plot line, and shot 80s style is what they were going for if so they nailed them all. Maybe it's supposed to be a comedy if so they missed the mark on that too. I can't believe there is director somewhere that put this together and "we've really put together a solid movie here". Like many others I stopped in to drop a review so hopefully no one else makes the mistake of thinking it worth their time. It's not, it's really not.

What a hugely failed attempt at creating a good western to help fill the gap left by Yellowstone! Not even Cole Hauser or several other good actors could save this awful movie. I don't know if it was a combination of bad writing or really bad acting on the part of main characters but I cringed at most of it. The plot was okay, sort of, but somehow just didn't click. I thought it was amateurish, corny, slow, even boring. Maybe if Cole Hauser, Foree, and Brings Plenty had more important roles it could have helped redeem this picture, but as for me, it was a real disappointment. Don't waste your money or time.

I created an account just so I could leave a review. I have never left any kind of review before so it must be bad to have motivated me to do so. I am very disappointed in this movie. There is nothing believable in this movie. The story line is bad. The acting is horrible. The stunts were laughable. Even the makeup was bad. And certainly the editing left much to be desired. I find it hard to believe I sat through the whole thing. Given the actor's names I thought it would be decent. But nope. I feel like I can not trust anything that they may be in in the future. The only redeeming value was Cole Hauser.

AKA a comic book. No surprise there. I mean, this one will certainly not tax the intellect any more than your average Archie & Jughead. But then it's a Western, which even the best of them are most often sparsely plotted and can generally be summed up in no more than just a few sentences. High Noon for instance, and one of the uncontested best of them can be adequately described in two. This film at least has that in common, but it is however, no High Noon. But still, I think if you like the genre, entertaining enough, filling the requirement of lots of action, a lot of outdoor photography, and with the merit of one bit of originality I've never seen before in any film outside Science Fiction (The Alligator People is the only one that comes immediately to mind) that seen in a Western defies the medical science not only of the period plus this one, but anything likely to be accomplished this side of a Star Trek future.

If your sick on the couch , looking for something to pass the time, skip this, unless you're going to take a nap soon
It's that bad. I re-rounded a couple of times thinking I missed something because I couldn't possibly be seeing what I was seeing .
I tried selling it to my husband "it can't be that bad because it has several of the Yellowstone cast members in it." Maybe it was co-written by Taylor Sheridan I said. :-) Nope. No such luck I sure hope they paid Cole enough money to make it worth his while.
The soundtrack alone will make you want to turn the volume down. It is annoying as it gets.

This might be the worst western I have ever seen. The plot is completely nonsensical, the editing was terrible, and the acting was just the worst. The soundtrack is plain bad. Do not waste your time or money on this garbage. I have never felt compelled to write a review until the credits started to roll on this film. The random violence has no pertinence to the story, the supernatural effects come off as absolutely silly. The only thing that comes close to redeeming this pile is Cole Hauser basically playing Rip Wheeler in the Old West, however even that is not enough to justify the awful things that go on around him in this bad bad bad movie. Do not waste your time.

I'm not typically a negative person but they charged real money for this, so they asked for it. Here it goes -
Save yourself!
What an utter waste of 6 bucks and the time to watch it. If you think you're scraping the bottom of Prime - you're right. I think they made this movie in the same amount of time as it takes to watch it. I'll bet not one of their moms could get through it. But if you want proof that 'movie stars' are just normal people - this is it.
You can tell that even the editor threw in the towel. Prolly decided doom-scrolling was more productive.
The story, direction, and acting are as cardboard as a bad high school play. But it does star four Yellowstone actors and a bunch of extras who get their first 'lines' and screen credits.
This could end the careers of anyone involved.

What a horrible movies. I can't believe this, it's crappy. Horrible story line. There is nothing that catches the eye. I thought Cole Hauser would bring some interesting dialogue to this movie, it didn't happen. The sound effects were not in tune to what is happening. I would not recommend this movie to anyone. Please save your money for a better movie. Half the actors and actresses over acted in an attempt to make themselves look good. I just can't find anything positive to say about this movie. From beginning to where I quit watching just poor everything. If you want to watch a good duster, go back to the 70's, you'll find tons.

This movie is horrible. Beyond horrible. I don't have words for how beyond horrible this movie is. Words haven't been conceived of that can describe this movie.
Without going into the series of unconnected scenes thus requiring a spoiler warning suffice to say I wouldn't recommend this movie to people I hate. My wife put it on I think because it had a couple of actors from Yellowstone. They didn't add much to the movie. They were no better or worse than the rest of the people who were in the movie.
If you enjoy suffering then this movie is for you. If you don't enjoy suffering then watch anything else. Anything else.

Wow, just wow and not in a good way! The worst 1 hour and 35 minutes of our lives just spent watching what could only be described as utter dross!
I won't even go in to the plot/story line, as there wasn't one. The acting was, for a word, wooden and using that term is offensive to wood!
Do not, I repeat, do not, select this movie at any cost unless you are wanting to see how bad a film could actually be!
At times it appeared ro be shot with a mobile phone, a little like the old A-team enemy leaping around when ever there pyrotechnics were introduced, the best actors in the movie were the stiffs!

No pun intended - the title itself already is a pun I reckon. If you like western movies ... well you probably have seen a few and might not be too surprised by the movie or rather its story. That said, since this has quite a few known actors, you may like that and give the movie some slack and be a little more open when watching it.
Revenge stories are quite simple, what you do need is actors who can transport the story and help it move along. That works to a degree but this will not be a classic in any book. The action is well shot and the costumes and the set design is quite good (all if you consider the budget of course) ... suspend your disbelief and just go with the flow, if you decide to watch.
