A more gory, brutal, adult themed Sword art online anime I would say.
The story is that a lot of people, including the protagonist, find themselves on a deserted island where they are forced to play an exact real life version of a popular online game. It was interesting enough to get me hooked and anticipated for every next episode.
The protagonist was good, in a way that they didn't made him too strong or something, but didn't made him a complete wimp too, kind of a balanced type which you normally don't get to see. But they just had to include an annoying girl with big boobs to add fan service and romance.
The action was decent, layered with gore and brutality.
The problem though is that firstly, the anime ended without any resolution or anything, it just ended in mid way. Secondly, even the 12 episodes felt cramped up. So many characters could have been fleshed out more.
7.3/10

When I watch an anime...I never compare them too other anime or related games..... I only judge on what i can see and my own feeling towards the series
Although the title seems a bit...childish....the poster seems interesting(most of the fan i know choose anime base on cool poster...lol)
a beautiful girl and a cool hero...
The character designer did a very good job.....the characters are beautiful and cool..
the director and writer also did a wonderful job in introducing the characters and gist of the game....the action sequence is exciting.....and in my opinion the development of the hero and heroin romantic relationship...is welll plan.... not too fast and not too slow....
I think that the production team were not given enough episode to fully tell their story... it is a pity that there are no 2nd season..... maybe if they were able to have a few more episode, the series would have made a better impression on the viewers.
I couldn't find any other anime that uses bomb as their fighting tools...so i consider this series is unique and original(if you can forget about the game).
I think that the series is worth watching and you will enjoy it very much however, the ending will be a bit disappointing as i feel that there are no closure.

The animation was quite good, and the anime mostly followed the original manga story, sadly only for the middle of the 1st arc, which is the best of the story for me.
The only minus point would be the censorship of some of the original scenes, and the fact that the anime end early, so if you want to see what happen after, you need to read the manga.
Ihmo, it's a nice anime/manga for the survival fans, even if others like Darwin games are even better.

A video game taking over the Neet's life isn't new, nor is the Neet being forced into a dangerous situation because of the video game, and "Btooom!" Death match isn't groundbreaking but the characters hardships and growth are surprisingly well done.
The male protagonists growth is measured and reasonable based on the situations he faced, however the real standout is the female protagonist. After facing hardships before being dropped on the island she's forced to relive the experience again, subjected to the humanities feral side. Although less than perfect I was impressed the anime addressed the issue of rape, the trauma survivors live with and the guilt survivors who escape suffer through.
Pros:
Cons:

Pros:
- Depth, imperfect but it's there.
- Good character growth and realistic responses.
- Fairly consistent animation.
- English Dubbing.
Cons:
- Not a fan of the female protagonist's voice at times.
- Predictable.
- No second season.
- Dialog seemed "stilted"' in early episodes.

I watch a lot of anime, when I mean a lot I can proudly say I have covered about 50 different series at the least. This one ranks up there, with the suspense, difficulty and tactical awareness of the game, and the whole bringing out the crazy in normal people plot. A must watch. I rate this on similar lines as death note, dead man wonderland, Mirai Nikki, high school of the dead just to name a few.
If you are into anime series that constantly keep you at the edge and do have a sense of realism and plausibility all through the story or 'world' that has been created, then this is for you. If in turn you like more fantasy heroic idol worshiping anime's as bleach and naruto or one piece, then you should look else where because this is some serious stuff.

Ignore the negative reviews because of some ecchi scenes
But it has good plot and charactorism
The only different between squid game is the money issue😅

Plot
A young man gets transported into a video game he plays called Btooom. A plot is uncovered involving an organization that aims to conquer the world by dominating the virtual world.
Cast
Unfamiliar with anybody involved.
Verdict
I've never read the original Btooom! Manga so I have no basis for comparison, I took it for what it was and it is a very mixed bag.
It starts strong on account of the premise being fairly interesting, being a gamer I doubly appreciated it and I was engrossed however it's quite goes from decent to average faster than you can say Call of Duty is overrated and though I was interested in the direction it was going I found myself thankful it was only 12 episodes.
The anime is dark, there's no goofy voices, over the top expressions or standard anime tropes here which I appreciated as I despise that stuff. It was gritty and hard hitting, but something was missing.
Then there's the perviness of it all, there are a couple of very eye brow raising scenes. You know the ones, the stuff you'd never see in anything American yet seems the standard in Japan, perverse and creepy for the sake of it, even the hero who we're supposed to be rooting for gets in on this action.
And then the biggest flaw? Yep that's right, the show gone cancelled on a cliffhanger so Btooom! Is an unfinished story rendering it a quite pointless watch.
Could have been a memorable enough anime, the ignorance and selfishness of the creators doomed it to mediocrity.
Rants
As an avid gamer since the mid 80's I appreciate stuff like this, especially when it's clearly made by gamers (Unlike most Hollywood efforts). The trouble is gaming has changed so much over the years, the primary change being the online element. I miss couch coop! Modern online gaming is offensively toxic to the point I find it best to mute everyone the moment I go into a new game. Whether it be League of Legends, Call of Duty, the worst community of all time Town of Salem or Among Us which wow just use the Pride banner in there and see how that plays out! You think people are vile behind their keyboards on social media? They're worse behind a controller.
The Good
Solid premise Surprisingly decent characters
The Bad
Inconsistent quality Ends on a cliffhanger Some senseless perverseness.

When people trapped in island and only way to leave is get 6 gems or chips which only can extract when opponent is died in that event everyone of them crack with the dark side which they are tiring to resit but all can't.
When you see the dark side of them and also valance that is for the another level some people compare with the sward art online but here it different you can feel the pain as person are really there. It not a virtual place.
First I think bomb only but there are different type of explosion some are timer some are cracker some filled with gas and so on. I mean there are too much related to it. So fight seen are very interesting.

I loved every episode. I binged watching it in two days. #Netflix should take this on and do more seasons. One season isn't justice to this anime!

Btooom! Is a series that is so good to the point that we need another season. While certainly, the romantic ending is quite a fine piece to be experienced. It is just far from enough, as it leaves too many questions that have been left unanswered. But it is still a good series that takes pride in its good writing. In a sense, you have to see for yourself just how good this series appears to be.

What a disaster, the anime bored me to hell. The only decent stuff about it is the animation, rest all is terrible. The plot of survival in a deserted island is an old one, so no originality. I did like the concept of using bombs as weapons but with no explanation on the bombs & little use of strategy or fights the concept is defeated. The anime is without a background story of why this is happening and frankly doesn't have an idea of where it wants to go. Normally in a survival anime we are supposed to root for a character but in this anime it's not possible as everyone got a negative vibe about them. The main protagonist is a NEET who hits his step dad and throws things on his mother during flashbacks and now when he is in the island he is supposed to be a nice guy!!! Most of the characterization is super weak and boring. This was suppose to be a thriller anime with tons of action but is sadly missing both. Also the anime was dropped midway without conclusion so its total waste of time.

So I watched episode one, and decided not to watch any more. Here are my thoughts.
Well first of all, the theme song is unbearable. In my experience, when anime has a creative op with great music, it ends up being a great anime. When the theme song is crappy, the show is crappy. Every anime I've seen is perfectly reflected by the theme song. This show has a op with bad singing, and boring visuals. From what I watched, that perfectly reflects the show.
The tone of this show is kinda annoying. It takes itself waaay too seriously. Its trying to appeal to all the 10-year-old edgelord gamers who they know are watching.
The protagonist, who is like the only character in episode one with any development, is extremely unlikable and stupid. I would not want to follow him for any more episodes.
The animation and art is alright, though a bit generic.
The voice acting and background music/sounds is ok. Nothing too noteworthy.
Episode one is mainly filler and does nothing that makes me want to keep watching. There's a lot of bits where the protagonist talks about stuff he already knows to himself, because the writers couldn't figure out a way to convey the information to the audience.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this show. Maybe it is brilliant by episode 2, but I doubt that.

This anime could be a good anime if wasnt for the many bad directions that they took. I cant take serious an anime where all the Girls are stupid, bored, useless and pathetic. They show you so many violation-agressive scens and then they put the same girl (16-17 y/o) in nuds for the perv lead character. Is a shame because the animation is good and has a few moment in the show that you can really enjoy; all the gore is very well aplicated and the estetic of many chacracters are well done. One more time, is a shame ruin a good anime for the perversion and bad taste, you can be nasty and put a lot of porn in your anime, but you can do it without be a pedo o a perv.
