I was lucky enough to have been in the same world class cinema in Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah where Netflix held their world premiere of this very special film directed by the highly sensible Mat Brown. The film is the technically and visually the best Arab film we have ever seen with great performances throughout especially by Nadine Labaki who is usually not great in films that are not her own and maybe with very few exceptions and with standout performance by Riman who play Jana in the film. It is very tense and atmospheric. At times creepy and the music is perfect. The story slowly unfolds to a surprise ending which I don't want to ruin... at times you feel it could have had a sooner reveal but all in all a very aspiring and pioneering project especially for Arab cinema. When the film finished many people were clapping and others in tears not knowing what to say. I love seeing reactions like this in cinemas. Very rare.
