"Bogotá: city of the lost" was a decent movie. The acting was decent, the plot interesting, and it didn't contain almost anything to dislike. Contraband and corruption were the main elements of it, which are indeed big issues in Colombia.
It follows the formula of the innocent guy who gets involved with dangerous bussiness and begind to climb up ranks, similar to movies such as "The Irish Man" but with way lower budget, which is why it didn't deserve more than 7 stars. If you look for something original, you won't find it in this movie, other than the fact that it develops in Colombia and it shows quite well the issues of contraband and corruption instead of the typical drug issue shown in every movie about Colombia, which is why it doesn't deserve less than 7 stars.
The only thing I disliked was that the title had almost nothing to do with the plot other than it being the setting of the story. It seemed more as an attempt to relate Bogotá with this kind of violence, which although is partially true, it mostly applies to the people who get into dangerous bussiness. As a Colombian myself, I have no issues with the way in which this movie showed the reality of my country, given that it is indeed, a reality. So don't look down on this movie only because of that, Colombia is a dangerous country at the end of the day, and if you wanted to see a movie which made it look good, don't look for it in the action genre.
