Near the beginning and at some points in the movie, a logo is displayed that reads United States Court Ninth Circuit, and when it is first displayed the caption on screen reads "Offices of State Attorney, Ninth Judicial Circuit".
There is no "Ninth Circuit" in the US court system, and the case was not heard in the federal system- it was heard in Florida's Ninth Judicial Circuit. The US Ninth District Court of Appeal covers westerns states of California, Nevada, Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana as well as Guam. The logo should have read Office of the State Attorney Ninth Judicial Circuit.

Witnesses such as George are shown sitting in the courtroom listening to other testimony. In Florida criminal cases, attorneys "invoke the rule" that prohibits any witness from sitting in on the trial.
Approx 5 minutes in, Elizabeth Mitchell's character describes Rob Lowe's prosecutor character as the first in the World to prosecute a murderer using DNA - this accolade actually belongs to David Blundell of the UK who, in 1988 convicted Colin Pitchfork of two murders based on DNA evidence, as described in the excellent James Wambaugh book, The Blooding. Both the DNA science breakthrough and the murders took place in the Leicestershire area of England.
