The madness of Godfrey Ho and Joseph Lai strike again, and strike hard in this monster movie that features some Hong Kong heavies in the shape of Danny Lee and more!
Blended with the usual unmatched footage of Westerners to help sell abroad, this hilarious mess is about a little girl and her pet snake (that is surprisingly smart and understands her native tongue) who get mixed up with some scientists schemes of making plants and animals 300 - 1000 times their size.
Of course, the formula falls into the hands of said girl, who's pet snake soon becomes bigger than any movie monster we've seen and enjoys playing hide and seek with her.
As the bad guys and army chase down the formula and girl, the snake gets more and more angry, and bigger, and soon we are delivered scene upon scene of Godzilla like miniatures and models that kinda work.
As mad as it is, and as annoying as the little girl is, Thunder Of The Gigantic Serpent is still quite enjoyable. Its crazy yes, but there is plenty of action, monster madness and overall entertainment to get through.
Far from perfect, but very ambitious even for schlock-miester Godfrey Ho...
