"Earth to Echo" was produced and financed by Walt Disney Pictures. After chairman Alan F. Horn saw a final cut, it was put in turnaround and was purchased by Relativity Media.

Mulberry Woods is a fictional town in Nevada, USA which is the residence of Tuck, Alex and Munch, the film's three main characters, and the location of the spaceship Echo uses to leave Earth.
Earth to Echo was actually shot in Santa Clarita California, which can be seen in a billboard advertising dental care for a few seconds during the film.
Alex (Teo Halm) was a resident at the town for four years.
The four principal cast members spent a week rehearsing and bonding with each other before shooting began on the film.
