It’s an accepted part of WWE lore that designated punching bag/Andre stand-in Big Show has had the worst WrestleMania record. In the weekly storyline build for Cody Rhodes’ Intercontinental title bout with Show at WrestleMania Xxviii, Rhodes pointed out Show’s foibles on the ‘grandest stage’, including losses in a sumo match with Akebono, and getting knocked out by Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
In truth, Show’s WrestleMania record is far from favorable, but it still sits at 4-9, battle royal losses and pre-show appearances excluded. There was actually a time where Show won three straight WrestleMania matches between 2010-12.
It’s a losing record, but at least Show has four wins, period. There are a number of wrestlers over the years that have not gotten any wins at WrestleMania, let alone four. These days, getting to be a part of the pay-per-view card in something other...

Every fan’s favorite rattlesnake returned to the WWE Network once again to host an exclusive version of his wildly popular podcast. This time the guests were WWE Hall of Famer Edge and his kayfabe brother and real-life best friend, Christian.
The Canadian duo are responsible for some of WWE’s most hilarious moments of the early 2000s and out-of-this-world tag team matches, characterized by their trademark zaniness and risk-taking ring style. Eventually they went their separate ways, carving out impressive careers as solo acts.
We kick things off with Christian thanking Steve for having them on, saying that he had a tough choice between them and Mantaur, and Austin replied that Mantaur got held up at the border due to his head.
This should be fun, so let’s get to it…

Undeniably one of the most intense, charismatic and skilled professional wrestlers to ever work a match, Randy Savage helped to define an era of professional wrestling.
The Macho Man wore the WWE Championship twice and the WCW Championship on no less than four occasions. He is one of the most recognisable names and one of the most imitated personalities in wrestling’s long and storied history. He was a consistent main event draw across three different decades. He was also the most recognisable star in wrestling after Hulk Hogan and he was always great for business. In short, Savage’s CV speaks for itself.
…So why isn’t The Macho Man in the WWE Hall of Fame?

The next gimmick-themed WWE PPV is just around the corner, and fans are gearing up to see who will face Seth Rollins inside the demonic structure known as Hell in a Cell: John Cena or Dean Ambrose. If that is the only cell match on the PPV of the same name, then it will be the 29th Hiac match in WWE history, a storied past that reaches back 17 years.
Hell in a Cell is supposed to be a rarely used gimmick in WWE that is an endpoint for feuds. Consider that before WWE implemented the Hell in a Cell PPV in 2009, there had been only 16 cell matches (over 12 years). That means the remaining 12 have taken place in the last five years (although one is a dark match). Ten have taken place at the five Hiac PPVs, and the outlier is the Undertaker-Triple H “End of an Era” match at WrestleMania Xxviii.

Chris Jericho announced yesterday that his time with WWE has come to an end once again. It is believed that his contract with the company ended following Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in Providence, Rhode Island.
Sending out a tweet this afternoon, he said:
‘So long to @WWE for now…2013 was one of my favorite in ring yrs ever! Thx for always sticking w Y2J & see u on the road soon w @Fozzyrock!’
Jericho’s departure marks the end of his latest stint with WWE but his tweet suggests that he will return to the company again in the future. His most recent stretch with WWE has arguably been less successful than previous tenures, with mainly minor feuds and only a few noteworthy victories.
He made his second return to WWE in early-2012 and was highly-tipped to win that year’s Royal Rumble match, promising that it would be ‘the...

Are you glad John Cena finally defeated The Rock? Read our take, then weigh in with yours.
The Cenation is rejoicing today, and rightfully so. John Cena was considered the underdog as he headed into his highly anticipated match with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on April 7 at WrestleMania Xxix, but by the end of the battle, he wasn’t just the winner; he was the new WWE Champion.
And while WWE Superstars are usually known for their (very public) trash talk, Cena kept is classy after besting The Rock. He shook hands with his rival in the center of the ring, and The Rock returned the respect.
The Rock had seemed pretty confident before the match, tweeting, “Its on. Biggest #Wrestlemania of all time. Greatest night of my career.” The People’s Champion even tweeted a picture of himself lacing up for the match, ready to take on Cena.

Wrestling is like Marmite. You either love it or you hate it. I fall firmly into the former camp, having grown up being aware of the old Saturday afternoon World of Sport wrestling with Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks back in the late 1970s before really falling hook, line and smackdown for it after accidentally discovering the WWF (as it was known then) at the start of the 1990s.

The 25th anniversary of the popular pay-per-view, WWE Royal Rumble 2012 is the catalyst for many of the biggest feuds heading into WrestleMania Xxviii. Headlined by the beloved Royal Rumble Match itself, this year’s event features 30 WWE Superstars both past and present, including “The Awesome One” The Miz, five-time WCW Champion Booker T, “The Great White” Sheamus and “The Viper” Randy Orton, all vying to be the last man standing and win the opportunity to headline “The Showcase of the Immortals”, WrestleMania Xxviii.
WWE Champion Cm Punk puts his title on the line against “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler, in a match where interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis is the Special Guest Referee. Ziggler has been riding a wave of momentum heading into the show, and the gifted grappler will be looking to capitalise on the potentially crooked officiating of Laurinaitis to dethrone “The Straight Edge Superstar” and win his first WWE Championship.

Who says hip-hop can't bring people together? You wouldn't think that WWE star John Cena and rapper Bumpy Knuckles have very much in common, but the two friends found a mutual respect for each other thanks to music.
After meeting at a New York radio station years back, Bumpy helped coach Cena to become a better lyricist. Bump even appeared on several tracks from Cena and Tha Trademarc's 2005 debut rap album, You Can't See Me. "Me and him became real good friends," Bumpy said of Cena when he appeared on Wednesday's "RapFix Live."
While at the radio station, the two engaged in an arm-wrestling match, which "RapFix Live" host Sway said Bumpy won.

WWE superstar gives props to band's 'in-your-face, time-to-fight music.' Voting in round two ends Sunday at midnight!

Voting in the second-round of MTV's Musical March Madness is entering the home stretch and, well, it's not looking good for Metallica. After disposing of fellow titans Guns N' Roses in round one, James Hetfield and company currently trail upset-minded Sum 41 by an "Unforgiven"-size margin ... and appear headed for the void.
Of course, there's still plenty of time to change things — voting in all second-round matchups closes Sunday at midnight Et — and, as luck would have it, Metallica are getting support from a rather unlikely source: WWE superstar John Cena, who would like to strongly encourage you to vote for his favorite band. And we mean strongly.
"If you don't vote Metallica strong, you ain't been around music.

We’re only a few weeks out from WrestleMania Xxviii, the biggest event of the WWE calendar year, so the promotion’s flagship show should be more exciting than ever, right? Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case this week. While there were some unquestionably great moments, the bulk of the show was just WWE spinning its wheels.
Raw this week featured John Cena busting out his PhD in Thuganomics, the Rock butchering Queen and Chris Jericho outing a fellow wrestler’s father as an alcoholic – find out how everything stacked up as we run down the show’s good, bad and heinously ugly moments. Then, make sure you tell us what you thought about the show, and help spread our little column around the internet with the fervor normally reserved for cat videos and Christina Hendricks nude photos. Make it all happen by liking us on Facebook, sharing the link on Twitter and of course,...

The past few weeks on Monday Night Raw, the Rock and John Cena have been engaging in an ongoing war of words, via some of the best, most interesting promos we’ve seen in months, building excitement for their already heavily-anticipated match at WrestleMania Xxviii to a fever pitch. That this is the case isn’t too surprising, as we’re talking about a showdown between yesterday’s top guy and today’s – while it’s not quite on par with Rock/Hogan, it’s certainly close. But what has made the promo battle so interesting is that Cena, widely considered the underdog in terms of microphone skills,...

Love him or hate him, you can't deny that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been popping up practically everywhere as of late. Whether it be "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," or even the promos for the upcoming WrestleMania Xxviii, this widely recognized actor/wrestler isn't going away any time soon. It's no wonder then that MGM has been eyeing him for the role of Hercules in their newest blockbuster "Hercules: The Thracian War."
Variety reports the possible casting. Helming the project is director Brett Ratner, best known for his work on films such as "Tower Heist," "X-Men: The Last Stand" and both "Rush Hour" movies. The script, written by Ryan Condol, is an adaptation of 2008's "Hercules: The Thracian War" graphic novel, written by Steve Moore and released via Radical Publishing.

Before I get started on an installment of Straight Shoot that will likely get me pilloried in the comments section, I want to issue a couple disclaimers. If at any point in the reading of this you start seeing red or going apoplectic, or thinking that I’m somehow anti-Cm Punk or pro-Chris Brown, please scroll back up and have a look-see at these. Then go ahead and get to throwing rotten fruit in the comments.
Chris Brown is a scumbag. He’s an unremorseful, abusive, violent bully, who is allowed to continue his life and career without any kind of consequence...

'There's not a worried bone in my body,' Dwayne Johnson tells MTV News of getting back in the ring with John Cena.

Not long after Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson returned to the WWE last year — and shortly before the wrestler-turned-actor-turned-wrestler again unleashed the People's Elbow at WrestleMania Xxvii, the man himself promised MTV News he'd inflict some serious damage on someone during the biggest night in wrestling.
"I'm going to take my fist and lay it across somebody's lips and take my boot — which is a size 14, so it's a big boot — and stick it straight up somebody's ass," he bragged.
The ass in question turned out, in fact, to be two asses: John Cena's and the Miz's. Both men felt the wrath of the Rock at WrestleMania. On April 1 at WrestleMania Xxviii, the Rock is set to...

Royal Rumble weekend is undoubtedly one of the most exciting times on the WWE’s annual calendar. Bets are placed, odds are wagered, and the entire wrestling community seems to be abuzz with speculation as to who’s in, who’s returning, and who is going to walk away with that coveted main event slot at WrestleMania. This year, the playing field is wide open, with two very distinguished probable winners, and a host of dark horses that just may surprise us.
Who will outlast 29 other men and earn a Championship match at Wrestlemania Xxviii? Let’s count down what I consider to be the most likely of scenarios.
5. Cody Rhodes – It’s a long-shot, but Cody Rhodes has a storied history of impressive showings in the Royal Rumble match. In 2009, Rhodes made it all the way to the final four, alongside fellow Legacy members Ted Dibiase and Randy Orton.
