The storyline is very predictable, just like any "high-school musical" or sport competition-related movies, with the same formula, same format, same ending and all same same x 1000! HaHa...!
The move is about 2 hours and 23 minutes! BUT I m good with it, and I do NOT feel a sense of boredom. The pace is good, everything is intact, and you just go with the story!
The character development among the kids is good! I love the racial harmony among the kids! The interaction among the Malay, Chinese and Indian kids is good too! Each kid has his own sub-family story! From the movie, you could see how they were brought up, e.g. Chinese kid is stressed with high expectations; Indian kid is happy with his estate life; and Malay kids are facing family issues. Although it may look pretty much stereotyping the different races, it reflects who we Malaysians are in general!
I love the side-role, especially Pak Arab! He is the typical Malay uncle who is loving, open-minded, nosey, and talkative! He acted well and I really love his character in there!
Overall, it's good, except.. everything is predictable! How I wish we could see something different from this kind of typical generic teenage sport-related storyline!
A recommended movie during this month of Malaysia Day, to feel the racial harmony, and appreciate the friendship among the different races! It's definitely worth your money to watch in the cinema!

Sports-themed movies in entertainment industry are not that much. And the director's efforts deserve praise because this genre and theme is not something easy.
There are many problems faced by the Anak Rimau team who come from different backgrounds and achieving unity is not easy thing.
Not only the reality of each player's problem is highlighted but the politics of football business is also emphasized in this movie, which is very eye-opening to people that the sports world is not easy.
Unfortunately, the weakness of Anak Rimau is clearly visible due to the weakness of the script and editing. Every plot seems rushed to end and also forced to be in.
Too many sub-plots are created to tell the problems of the players until the main problem is not developed well. This movie should be a drama since many sub-plots need to cram into one story lasting in 143 minutes.
