A report by trade analyst Nishit Shaw confirms that Animal has claimed the spot for the sixth all-time highest-grosser in Australia from Deepika Padukone‘s film, period drama, in seven days.

The stars of Ayan Mukerji’s 2013 film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani had a reunion last night. The film’s director posted pictures of the film’s stars Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin from the reunion on his Instagram handle and he wrote “Last night.”

Two pictures feature Naina, Bunny, Adi and Aditi smiling with all their hearts. The other shot features the gang posing with Ayan Mukerji, Pritam, Manish Malhotra, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Kunaal Roy Kapur among other members of the team.

Bollywood director Ayan Mukerji, who delivered the blockbuster hit ‘Brahmastra, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his second film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which clocked a decade since its release on Wednesday.

The director took to his Instagram to reminisce about the film as he shared a video with bits from the film interspersed with visuals of him talking and his voice-over telling the viewers what the film means to him.

He also shared a long note along with the video as he wrote, “‘Yjhd’ – My second child, a piece of my heart and soul – 10 years old today! I think after all these years, I can confidently say that. Exclusive: Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has entered into a strategic content partnership with fellow Indian production house, Sikhya Entertainment, founded by Guneet Monga.

The two companies will work together to produce multiple projects across feature films and digital formats. While no projects were announced under the deal, the partners said they would start to reveal details in two to three months.

The deal brings together one of mainstream Bollywood’s biggest production companies with an outfit better known internationally for independent and festival fare.

Mukerji previously directed Disney’s Indian mythological superhero film “Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva,” which was one of the biggest Bollywood hits of 2022, grossing $52 million. He debuted with coming of age film “Wake Up Sid” (2009) and followed up with romcom “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” (2013).

Created by producer Aditya Chopra, the spy universe kicked off with the Tiger franchise, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, beginning with “Ek Tha Tiger” (2012) and “Tiger Zinda Hai” (2017), and continued with “War” (2019), starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. Indian actor Aditya Roy Kapur plays the titular lead in the Disney+ Hotstar Indian adaptation of “The Night Manager.”

Based on the 1993 espionage novel by British writer John le Carré, the series follows the night manager of a hotel who is recruited to infiltrate an arms dealer’s inner circle. It was previously adapted in 2016 by David Farr as a BBC/AMC series, with Tom Hiddleston playing the titular night manager and, as revealed by Variety, Anil Kapoor (“Jug Jugg Jeeyo”) as the arms dealer antagonist.

The Ink Factory, which was behind the 2016 adaptation, is also producing the Hindi-language Indian version alongside Banijay Asia. The creator of the Indian version is Sandeep Modi (“Aarya”).
