Uttam Kumar still is the MAHANAYAK (THE HERO) of tollywood industry.
Neither gossip columns/pulp magazines/flop movies could tarnish Uttam-Supriya's image... nor this film would be ever successful to do so.
ACTING - Saswata Banerjee was brilliant... Rituparna Sengupta even as a cameo actor was fantastic... Biswanath & Srabanti also gave good performances... but most of the amateur actors were really disappointing.
STORYLINE/PLOT- A cheaply catered, one sided tale of a great persona without any nuances of life.
The film is not about Uttam Kumar's cinematic successes or failures... This film is not exactly a biopic... This film is all about Uttam Kumar's first love/wife Gauri devi and HIS infinite affairs... This film illustrates a family drama where Uttam Kumar is being seduced to the dark side by "others" (namely Supriya devi/Benu-di).
Behind all of Uttam Kumar's success & greatness there was Gauri devi (and obviously HIS tremendous discipline)....but behind Uttam Kumar's downfall, HE is never to be blamed... HE was never responsible for HIS choices.
Whether be it, marrying Supriya Devi (Never shown in the film. She just symbolies the downfall of HIS life) without divorcing Gauri Devi... or leading an extremely unhealthy & indisciplined life... or ruining reputations of many women.... HE is never (actually) responsible.
"Chhoti si mulakat" was HIS choice... HIS failure... but Supriya Devi/Benu-di is exclusively blamed for that too in this film.
SCREENPLAY - Poorly written dialogues and scenes...Even telifilms & OTT platform films now have more well researched contents with better cinematic experience.
Uttam Kumar may had a flawless persona on the silver screen... but he was a human being with loads of imperfections... Demonizing his second partner "Benu-di" (that partner is a woman thereby a witch , who can be casted away by some charmed amulets) maybe the easiest way to sell a film... by obscuring truths & nuances of life.
MUSIC - At times appropriate... at times it felt like mixing water with oil.
OVER-ALL EXPERIENCE - I had no intention to write a review for this below average film. My rating is more than enough, to make my opinion clear.
When I read through the reviews of around 3.2k imdb bots with same copy-pasted good review, posted on 23rd July...I just had to share my experience, which was an unpleasant one.
This film is a total waste of time and money... I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch the film even when it streams free on TV.
But then again... I wish that you go to the nearest theatre without your family (torture yourself but don't push your family into this) and share your real experience here....to fight bot ratings/reviews in imdb.

Everything about it is great, and I have nothing bad to say about it. The filmmaking, photography, and costume design are all of the highest caliber. This film deserves every award it earns, and then some. Motivating and inspiring. The direction is elegant.
The film is a work of art, with a grandiose setting befitting the story of a guy who is bigger than life. Not only for history lovers, but for anybody searching for a good philosophical benchmark as well.

The movie is in itself a marvellous film making feat, with a larger than life setup to depict the larger than life story of a man. A must watch , not only for history but also for getting a good philosophical benchmark which we all need.

Despite this, the film's star-studded cast and a few memorable sequences save it from devolving into a trite, overdone biographical cliche.i really like this film.

The sequence of key events in Uttam Kumar's life overwhelms these touches in the second chapter. This is a film that should be seen over the course of a weekend. A excellent Bengali film for locals to see.

I thought the picturization was great, and the time period that the movie depicted was spot on. This video will teach you that finding the appropriate recipe for success and maintaining confidence in the path you've chosen are the two most important factors in achieving it. Excellently spotless and genuine portrayal of Uttam Kumar ji.

The film's representation of the era was superb, and I loved it. Success may be achieved by following the right formula and being confident in your choice, according to this film. Incredibly accurate portrayal of Uttam Kumar ji.

The film is in Bengali. Atanu Bose, the director of the film, develops a feature film that, in many ways, does not resemble a biography.ghwhbsjahchachcahcahvvaj ja is. Jsvbaibjwbibwis.

Saswata Chatterjee's outstanding acting adds the finishing touches of perfection to this masterwork, which also has great casting, staging, and costumes. Saswata Chatterjee's performance is a masterpiece. This movie is wonderful, even if it has a somewhat long running time.

The movie is a work of art in and of itself, portraying a man's larger-than-life experience in a more extravagant setting than actual life. This is a film that is crucial to see because of its historical significance as well as the intellectual foundation it sets, which is something we can all learn from.
I was awed by the film's visual style and the age it depicted. If you have trust in your choice, you can attain any degree of success. This video serves as a reminder of this. This portrayal of Uttam Kumar ji's personality is really accurate.
I was blown away by the film's visuals and the age it depicted. What this film reminds you is that if you have faith in your decision, you can achieve any type of success. This is a very accurate portrayal of Uttam Kumar ji's character.

The life of actor Uttam Kumar serves as the inspiration for this movie. West Bengal was one of the states in which he had the most popularity. The guy who portrayed the role in the movie did an excellent job with the role. A fantastic movie with a strong performance from the actors overal.

Saswata Chatterjee's outstanding performance is the cherry on top of this masterpiece's fantastic casting, staging, and costumes. He provides the finishing touch of perfection with his performance. Despite its length, this movie is really extraordinary in its own right.

It's a good thing the picture has a stellar cast and a few noteworthy passages to save it from becoming another overblown biopic. It's a good thing the picture has a stellar cast and a few noteworthy passages to save it from becoming another overblown biopic.

It seems that the director and performers have made considerable efforts. Please see and spread the message of love and genuine care for every person. One of the most incredible biopics I've ever seen.

In the second chapter, the sequence of major events in Uttam Kumar's life overpowers these touches. Weekend viewing is recommended for this film. This is a must-see Bengali film for the locals.

. I can see that the actors and the director both put a lot of effort into their performances. Viewers are invited to share this movie to their friends and family and to encourage them to do the same in order to promote the message of compassion and love for all people. Even though I've watched a lot of movies, this one is the best.

This film is a biopic, and its subject is the actor Uttam Kumar. In West Bengal, the state in which he had the greatest level of popularity, his name was a common one. The actor who played the role in the movie did an excellent job depicting the character. The all-star cast of this movie is a big reason why it's such a good movie.

In this particular instance, it is a movie that is spoken in Bengali. With the opening sequence and the first half of the movie, Atanu Bose creates a feature film that doesn't actually appear like it's based on a biography in many different respects.

The film is a masterpiece of filmmaking, with a larger-than-life backdrop to convey a larger-than-life narrative of a man. A must-see not just for history buffs, but also for anybody looking for a decent philosophical standard.
Despite this, the film's star-studded cast and a few memorable sequences save it from devolving into a standard biography, a subject that has been overdone in recent films.
